Someone will be making a reduction drive for these to swing a bigger prop. As far as the battery goes; the early Weedhopper ultralight airplanes used a couple of D-cell batteries to run the coil. A small battery monitor could be installed that could trigger a beeper when the battery falls to a predetermined level. The muffler bolt problem is an easy fix. Drill a small hole through the bolt heads to accept safety wire. A strand of wire through both bolts and twisted would prevent them from turning loose. Or replace the bolts with pre drilled aircraft bolts designed for safety wire.

Yes, he certainly did. It’s a beautifully made Paramotor made for paraglider pilots, no difference in feel to flying a paraglider. It’s not your average powered Paramotor heavy, large, uncomfortable in flight, hard to turn or weight shift. Big difference.

not sure about the battery shown in this video it is 2500A that could damage the system i found info surgesting to use a maximum 1000A that being the one supplied which has 13200 mah , look forward to any comments.

The battery Amp hour capacity is not going to damage the system. 2500 mah = 2.5 Amp hour. Battery voltage outside of what the ignition system was designed for will damage it.

Loctite on the exhaust hardware will not hold with the heat. Best option is drill the head of the hardware & safety wire it. I use a propane torch to loosen hardware that has red loctite. If loctite was adequate we would not see safely wire in aviation & motorsports

15hrs in and these bolts haven’t moved, since getting it from manufacture. Think too many fear campaigns from the crappy AliExpress Airjet using a copy of the engine going around which is tainting a perfectly good manufactured model.

This is very interesting... having it as long as you have how do you feel about the overall reliability? I can see the advantage for free flight practice or finding lift to play in.
@oneupadventures5040
@oneupadventures5040 11 ай бұрын
Hey Adam, in the RC forums the DLE-170 seems to have an excellent reputation for reliability, and this is probably the best place to look since there are tons of them in large scale RC aircraft. Parts are also widely available and inexpensive compared to similar parts for other paramotor engines. The only issue we had was with our exhaust, the brackets the connects the two exhaust to provide additional support cracked. The brackets were then redesigned and strengthened, and RB Paramotor sent us the new exhaust at no charge. We think it is important to occasionally check the tightness on the 4 bolts that hold the two exhaust to the cylinder, if they loosen up there is a higher chance of failure. So far we're super happy with!

@oneupadventures5040
@oneupadventures5040 10 ай бұрын
It concerned us at the beginning also. We're including the 22,000 MAH battery in the link below. You do have to be careful as not to use just any "jumpstart" style battery, as some of them have circuitry that turns them "off" automatically after a period of time. This one doesn't: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082ZZ2W14/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 We've had a school MiniMot since January, have not yet charged the battery and it still shows full charge. Not sure how many hours of flight time, but quite a few! Also coincidentally I have your Immortal album, Great Stuff!

Thoughts on a 3 blade prop? Even available at this size? At your weight, similar to mine, Percentage of throttle to maintain level flight? 70%’? Rpm at level flight? Very interested. 63 and legs not as strong as in my 50’s. Are you the dealer? Website? Thx
@oneupadventures5040
@oneupadventures5040 8 ай бұрын
We have not seen a three blade prop available for it. Percent throttle to maintain level flight depends heavily on the pilot's weight and the size and efficiency of the glider used. Practically speaking, this paramotor is appropriate for pilots weighing up to 175 lbs.

How reliable is the motor compared to like an atom 80? Similar, how finicky is it as well? Do you know if it produces a true 17.5hp? Has anyone ran one on a dyno?
@oneupadventures5040
@oneupadventures5040 9 ай бұрын
We have not had any issues with the engine, nor any of the Minimot's we've sold. To make a factual reliability comparison is impossible due to lack of data for comparison. I would check out "DLE 170" is the RC forums to get a taste for any issue. Most seems to be related to the exhaust, but our Minimot does not use a stock DLE-170 exhaust, it has a custom built exhaust that is a nice improvement. DLE-170 engine parts are also widely available and less expensive that Vitto components, but of course the DLE-170 serves a broader market, and is more mass produced, so that should be no surprise. I've never seen a DYNO test. While similar engine HP to Atom 80, it does produce "subjectively" 15% less thrust swinging an 88CM propeller, compared to the Atom 80 swinging a 130CM propeller. Shorter propellers always are less efficient at converting engine HP into usable thrust. However the MiniMot's 88CM propeller allows for an extremely compact cage, and allows the unit to achieve a ready to fly weight of just 33lbs, while the average weight an an Atom 80 paramotor is 45 ls. So there is a 25% weight savings compared to the Atom 80, and a roughly 15% thrust loss compared to Atom 80. I watched Anthony Vella fly the MiniMot at 215 lbs pilot weight on a 27M EN-A glider, it was not a fast climb, but it worked. Ideally MiniMot is for lightweight beginner pilot, or any pilot up to 200 lbs who wants something super portable (toss on back seat of car assembled) and light. It is also very nice for those getting into thermal flying, to climb up, shut down, thermal (w/minimal added weight/drag), restart as necessary to get back into the thermals. Great way for flatlanders to get up there and start playing around!

I added a motor temperature gauge. Concerned when hearing 210 to 240c (410 to 460f) it will blow. So the temp gauge is a must when needed to fly to a mountain 9 km away. I will let it run till 170 - 190c max then reduce to cruise speed when getting to those temperatures, goes down very fast within a min or less when cruising, can give it more excelleration again if more height is needed. Feel safer keeping motor in top shape for longer life span. Oh and I should add, the standard harness fits and is very comfortable at 5’1” I did however need to make knots to block the seat strap from wedging back too far down. Also I took leg straps further over the foam padding another 3inches, tight but possible without removing the foam overlay. Now I am very happy and compfy. Thank you for your reply it really helped me to buy.

I have a Minimot and let me tell you the noise is just to much, I had problem with my neibourgh. Finaly I changed those two ridiculous type of mufflers, which by the way failed off, by a real muflelr moto type and it is day and night. Of course they argue about the weight of 13 kg for marketing business. Mine is about 16kg, which is still fine.The moster 185 is not loud with a low deep sound compare to this very high bee like sound for the Minimot. Patrick

Its similar to a Moster 185, a bit louder at idle, pretty similar at full power. RB Paramotor does not use the stock DLE Exhaust, it uses its own design that includes both an exhaust and silencer for each cylinder.
