Well this was an eventful leg of the journey, you took in a lot, minus some birds. I wonder if a lot of the birds left early to other feeding grounds where it would be warmer. Your mule deer were elk, they are so cool to view. I had this big bull elk running along near the road where I was driving in N. Mex. and he was bugling as he was running, must have been trying to summon the ladies. Your wild boar, the Javalina are another neat animal to view, I use to see them quite a bit when I lived in Arizona. And the snow, it sure was chasing you around as you kept trying to leave it behind. Poor windshield, hope you got it fixed up okay before heading to Baja, such a pain when a stone does that while you're driving. Great video today, thank you. Well, hasta la vista, adios mis amigos. Can't wait to see you all enjoying Baja, take care!

It happened to me and within 30 mins the crack was 30cm wide! Yeah the cold is Snow ❄️ joke! Yay, Arizona! Ooh look at that weather, I’m shocked at the sudden change. I really felt as though I was onboard with you ! Years ago I got my broken windshield driving south in Utah near the Painted Desert ( I think ) on a road that had just been re-graveled, signs saying 'go very slowly' because at any remotely medium speed cars or trucks coming in the other direction would kick up rocks. Well , trucks don't give a damn, so next thing we saw was a large truck speeding towards us and as it passed it was as though the whole car had been shot at a gazillion times. I think I actually ducked! Yup, cracked windshield and dents on car etc. I live on the marsh in CT and hear coyotes many nights. Their cries are very eerie . Thrilled that you were able to enjoy more of the magnificence of this crazy country. Just makes me shudder to think of crossing in covered wagons. The Very Large Array was awesome ! Now you two have done it again. Great episode! Can't wait for Baja. Continue happy and safe travels😘😘

Hola 👋 from southern New Mexico🌶️🌵...that was a javelina not a pig and they are very dangerous when they have their young with them. I had one chase me in my own yard many years ago. I'm so glad you got to see the VLG I hope you got to see the antelope also that graze around there. Oh the elk, female elk don't have horns! Sweet! lots of coyotes I hear. We still have snow way up in the mountains here and like 18° F at night down here.🥶 It's winter. Looking forward to your vlogs in Mexico. Angels all around you and your fur babies and home on wheels🙏🙏💖🤗

I've heard how dangerous the javelina's are! Would be interested to know how to tell the difference between them and a boar so I know for next time! Glad we were watching from the safety of the van 😅 We didn't see any antelope at the VLA unfortunately, just the elk as we were leaving. Love hearing the coyotes! Especially when we're all safely tucked up inside. Despite the cold we loved New Mexico, as you could probably tell! Sending love xx 💕

@@OverlandingSophia The boar has tusks. I was driving one night and there were two fighting and the biggest pushed the smaller right into my vehicle. They are in the rodent family. Beautiful trip. Thank you for taking us along. Being raised rural in the western states I can say two things about what you encountered your 1st night in AZ: Broken bottles = party spot, and gunfire in the middle of the night usually (usually) means someone's shooting coyotes or other wild intruders away from their property and domestic animals. That happens very regularly; we must protect our chickens, goats, horses, donkies, pets, etc, from the coyotes, raccoons, cougars, etc, in the middle of the night and gunfire is the best way to do it.
@OverlandingSophia2 жыл бұрын
Definitely was a party spot! We get it back in the UK too, such a shame people leave rubbish and everything behind 😢 It might have been someone protecting their land but there was no farm, building, ranch or fenced land for miles around us. No dogs barking, nothing but a few close gun shots 🤨

Hi Guys, It's probably too late and after the fact, but depending on your insurance in the USA, they'll usually repair windscreen damage that is smaller than a size of a quarter for free. Well that's in California at least! Hope you've made it safely across the border and look forward to your Baja adventures. WooHoo.

Thanks for the feedback but interested as to why was it click bait? I literally say those words in the video as we try and escape one of the worst snowstorms we’ve been in! To me clickbait implies something irrelevant to the video that is solely there to get you to click.

From Grammarly: The most common cactus that we think of in the U.S. is the saguaro cactus of the Southwest. Cactus has a Latin root that derives from the plural cacti, which makes cacti the technically proper plural spelling. If you want to stay on the right side of the rulebook, you can refer to more than one cactus as cacti.
@passingthroughtime30332 жыл бұрын
@@AndySaputo I didn't say you couldn't call them cacti which I think is the scientific name. It would be kind of like calling tulips, tulipa which is the scientific name. People just don't usually call things by their scientific name. In American English we say cactus for one cactus, or we say cactuses for more than one. Not too many people use the word cacti. But I noticed with Brits they will call them cacti for one or more they still say cacti. They never use the word cactus for one.
