First time ever flying was for a trip to France last summer. Coming back, we were in Newark, and a plane skidded off the runway while landing and broke some bits off. It caused fucking CHAOS. Our flight out to Indianapolis was supposed to be like 4:45, and it got pushed back to like... 5 or 6 something? And then when that time neared, it got pushed to 8 something. So here I am, jet lag hit me hard, I was having some bad anxieties and other issues I wasn't sharing with my friend group, I wanted to be home so badly at that point, my mom was supposed to drive to Indy to pick me up because the alternative was staying with my friend group (which I had no desire whatsoever to do) and it would ruin my built in rest day before going back to work. And, uh. It began to seem like we'd be stuck overnight in a hotel in Newark or Manhattan. And I was not having it. I was about to have a complete breakdown at the airport. Suddenly, my friend, the ticket holder, got a text saying boarding was at this gate way across the airport and ending in 10 minutes. We were SPRINTING with our heavy ass luggage, and I was so exhausted, I started just. Powerwalking. Saying, fuck it, I have flight insurance. If I miss my flight, I miss my flight, I'll get another. We get to the gate, there's no one there to deal with us. We were the first people there. About an hour later, boarding begins. Then we sit on the runway for another hour or two. After about 24 straight hours with no sleep, running around airports and traveling from France, time stopped making sense. I literally started hallucinating on the plane back to Indy. And then we get close to Indy, and they're like, "Well, there are bad storms and tornadoes in the area, so we may have a bumpy landing." We land and it looks like tornadoes could kick up any minute. My mom got lost on the way miles and miles and towns and towns away from Indianapolis. She finally gets me, I'm hallucinating space shuttles in the clouds. I think it was a landing plane? Idk. It's so foggy, my mom wants me to help watch out, because deer are goddamn EVERYWHERE for some reason, and everyone we encounter is driving stupidly. We get out of the dense ass fog and deer hazards, and my mom says it's ok if I sleep, but I don't want to, I want to help keep watch. I hallucinate a tree in the middle of the road. Close to home, we both notice the air goes from dead to hearing a house's windchimes kicking up like mad. That's when we notice what looks suspiciously like a funnel cloud touching down off the side of the road next to us. I wasn't going to say anything, because who knows if it's even REAL at that point, until my mom says she's pretty sure that was a tornado forming five feet away from us. We keep driving. We see what looks like another, but we're not sure. We make it home. I get into my own bed with my cat, in my own house, and become dead for a few hours. The Newark air port made me never want to see another bowl of fucking chicken noodle soup again.

This is gonna sound so weird but I’ve always loved how every airport is different. Different types or architecture and designed terminals. The airport in Pitssburgh PA, is HUGE. It’s so wack, basically a museum lots of wax figures and statues to look at. The Orlando FL airport (Disney fans KNOW) just has very laid back kinda cursed vibes. Very strange. The airport in Philadelphia reminded me straight up of one of those pod hotels. The area was sooo small and they each had a separate little room to board. Anyways yes I need an airport series🤣
