Hey everyone back with more Scrap Mechanic Survival! Today Kosmo and I are going to put some of our massive material supply to use and upgrade our farm! The watering truck is too small for our mega farm and so we're finally going to install a proper watering system! @darealkosmo

for random watering like this then point water cannons upwards. water drops will hit more plots. but the cheap and optimal fix would be using a sensor to trigger water cannons. then on rail system rides on , place a thin pipe to trigger sensor at center of each row. also instead of getting 30 more water cannons just use 4 more pistons and 2 wheels and make it so water cannons can move sideways.

@@adman4150 I'm not sure if you're talking about murder hole or Machicolations but oil was expensive and it would be wasteful to use it like this. Boiling water on the other hand was as effective and much cheaper. Also quicklime was being used as it's very corrosive and easily damages things like eyes. I'm not sure if tar was being used. I'm sorry for grammar. English is not my first language

my trigger system is color block sensor so I can accurately hit the same spot over and over, the timing stuff gets a bit off with big plots. then after that all you have to do is adjust the piston speed a bit slower and then its constantly accurate all the time.

The canisters are hooked in series you can hook them all up to one water canister and it'll just pull from the other, also it would be beneficial to use large chests to store much more water

Use "vibrating piston mechanism" to slow down the extension of pistons and use another timer to slowly push them out When they reach end of the rail, make it activate another sensor which will move the "head" in other axis and pull it all back Repeat until you have whole field done

instead of a timing circuit, do a sensor that looks for a color on the edge. hook that to the waterers and put the pistons on a controller that slowly extends and contracts the pistons.... one button push. farm is watered.

Tip, build the wall horizontally not vertically because the bot has an area attack vertically and not horizontally and after they attack it, they may have a chance of using it to carved it like a stair and then climb over the wall By horizontally, i meant that 1 layer thicc horizontally and the more you have it, the better. Summary : Vertical Walls = Area attack : Horizontal Walls = 1 layer attack

Like have it park and it will become part of the build until you sit in the seat again. But only in a specific area. Something like that. Can someone try to explain it better.

The block will be linked to another in one corner of the spot. *I will reply to this with example* and in between 2 blocks the normal blocks "the blocks you build with" in between the pblocks have parking enabled. Those are what the vehicle or object "attach" to.

I feel like you'd be much better off putting the watering cannons on horizontal tracks, so they move across the bar as it moves down the plots, rather than trying to fill the bar with cannons. Similarly, using a color coded index and sensors to trigger the pistons and cannons, rather than timing circuits and tickers, would give you more control, so you wouldn't need to do half a dozen passes to fully water your farm. Beyond that, you may want to try to automate both planting and harvesting, simply because you'll be there forever trying to do it by hand. That said, I'm not sure how you'd deal with the slope or the excess seeds. Maybe break the farm into smaller rectangles by having banks of seed layers that roll onto and off the push-bar as it moves?

I have a huge farm too. It's nearly full automatic (water, plant, fertilize and sort the harvest). It's 70 row large and 96 long. So I warn you: all this stuff it's really heavy for only one row of pistons and the system is so much slow then. You will see a difference when all your canons will be installed. I have also 1 water tank for each canon so they can watering each row without needed to be filled (even if they fill during the process). All this s**t it's sooooo laggy but worth it :P Second Point: take care of the Tapebots. They will shoot your seat first and then all your wood catwalk.

use color sensor that detect squares i paint to shoot water/seeds. i use green one for seeds and blue one for water. then you dont have to worry about timing the sensors handle it. speed of the pistons dont matter now.

you can even put the water containers below water level and don´t need the pipe bows. also, maybe it´s not withh logic, but it´s constant, give the water gun sled a pillar with a sensor, hooked into an and gate, that´s hooked into the pumps and the pistons. To set the timing with a sensor, next to the sled you build a 2 blocks high pillar centered on each row of crops. Set the pistons to lowest speed and you should be fine. If it doesn´t go slow enough, hook a controller between the logic gate and tthe pistons. I don´t need to tell you to set them in a sequence.

You should connect more of the unmoving structures to each other with a strong material. This will both support the structure if some of it breaks, and everything will be comnected, so you wont have to move stuff back and forth. fx, if farm is connected to tree, it won't fall even if all the pillars are destroyed by red bots, and the fater will still be connected, if the stairs break. It will probably look a bit like wires, so making it not look out of place is not going to be that difficult.

If you add a sensor to the other side of your farm and a piston to your water bar you could halve the amount of needed water shooters all you have to do is hook the sensor up to the piston make the piston extend by 2 or 3, make sure you set the sensor to switch mode and you could cut the amount of water cannons in half, making it so the water cannons switch to the other side while they come back keep the water cannons running and you got the same amount of crop watering for half the cannon price, if you want a picture to see what it would look like i can go in my world and look

You should do a video to figure out the best type of light. I use 8 lights to light my farm, I almost can't tell the difference between day and night. If you are looking for ideas for your mining vehicals, you could search for 'all in one miner' on the workshop.

I hooked up all the pistons for my farm watering system to a controller and staggered them so only one extended at a time. Then i used a sensor on the end and a x-nor gate to switch the entire thing off when the water cannons made it to the end.

should just farm for 5 on each side, then put on pistons to move from the middle to the end after each trip. then also put enough pistons for you can move them over the edge and during raids one of you just keep going up and down drowning the bots on those 2 sides.

Kan, did you know that the death bags (with at last 1 Item in them) is invincible, so you two can weld the bags to make the wall! The process is looking something like this: Someone (from other account to not cost lage) picks 1 random item and then dies, Other players welds this bag to the wall and there you go, the invincible wall (If don't trust me then go to the creative and check out how powerful bag is!)

Why instead of having 32 pumps, not use pistons to move it horizontally when watering a row, bringing them closer to the center from both sides??? In this way, when you have more pumps, you reduce the extension of the pistons.

Using lower friction blocks as the rail guides might work better and prevent jams. Also, couldn't you just change the watering system to use a second set of pistons instead of building 32 more cannons? Basically extending the water cannons along the X and Y axis, instead of just the Y?
