The satin finish is so much classier looking than the shiny finish. The lustre is to die for. Lots of work but well worth it in the end. Can't wait to see the rest of the floor complete.

If you decide you want a better solution for those plastic parts for the winch, get me a drawing of what you need and I can 3d print a part out of ASA (great UV resistant and weather / chemical inert material) for you.

EUC sighting at 11:06! I caught COVID in early August. Put me out of commission for a solid week. Glad you’re feeling better. I would have watched a month of videos of just Aladino laying up the head, but totally understand the cramped space adding to the negative factors already associated with filming. Incredible music selection and editing as always.

We love the satin finish on the interior. You don't realize how much the high gloss glares when reflecting sunlight. You made the most beautiful and practical solution. And yes, you have to use the polyurethane on the floors. Everything looks so beautiful and we are looking forward to see you put her in the water! Namaste. 🙏

When we were making veneered skateboards we got some pure silica from the hardware store to sprinkle into a top coat to provide a non skid surface which does not show because it is as transparent as the top coat. I am always gratified to see your many ship fitting skills and particularly the cable skills that Aladino now displays after having just seen them in the earlier video. The parapet looks like a solid perch and the bottom triple sensor is well placed without the lump that they usually entail. I liked the subtle piano music while Aladino was fitting the ends for the cable the first time.

Beautiful job on the finishing. Smart to only have 1-2 coats of satin, that finish contains particles to make it not glossy. It's controversial, but many woodworkers feel that many coats of satin can slightly obscure the wood grain. Well done!

In peer reviewed studies: a nasal saline rinse of the sinuses decreases all respiratory infections up to 80percent. If not allergic to betadine or iodine you can add a 1/2-1% to your nasal rinse and this really helps. This prep is used all the time for oral surgery. Betadine comes in a 10% concentration so I needs to be diluted to a 1/2-1-% concentration. I have used this several times and it really stops big infections. Good luck!!! The boat is looking really nice. Glad you are on the mend!

I love the cutting board solution for the winches, as a month ago I used some cutting board to make spacers in order to attach wheels to my inflatable Kolibri dinghy. A neat scupper fitting was in the way and spacers were needed, a hole saw made a neat cut for the final size. At some point I hope you can include an electric winch, they are a safety tool in that it permits the easier recovery of a man overboard and hoisting someone aloft. Even being seasick limits one's capacity to exert energy. This summer when sailing around the Fastnet I became sea sick. Fortunately I was able to tuck in a reef on the main, then rest. As with all these things, having options to prevent issues escalating is vital to safety. Do read some of the reports by the UK's MAIB Marine Accident Investigation Branch'. Serious problems often involve a combination of elements. A well prepared boat includes crew being able to solve problems with all systems, engine, electrics, rigging.

I was surprised with your rigging fabricator used silicone in the Sta-Lok fittings. I was always taught to use 4200 which causes me much less trauma. We totally agree with the satin varnish. High gloss needs to be 100% perfect all the time in order to look decent. That includes no fingerprints. That is just not a reality in a boat that is used. The satin looks fantastic even when it is not perfect and never shows fingerprints.

Now I think I'd think I'd carry dyneema and blue jeans for chafe protection. With led lights, solar, wind, and watermakers...we are so free now. Except sailors 50 years ago experienced more freedom in traveling through countries.

With Aladino’s experience and skills, I would call him a “young old soul” but having said that, would love to know the reason he chose SS wire over more modern UHMWPE line for the standing rigging; aesthetic and/or practical reasons? Also, dust and soil upon the sole, need not disturb a tranquil soul!
