Some guys have all the luck and one of those guys is me. I am so thankful I discovered you when I was a young man of only 86 years. Now I'm 91 and look for you every week. I did many of the things you've done, the highlight being a voyage from Maryland to Bermuda and back again in 1975. 91! Sir, you made it well past the average mile marker. Respect that. I bet you have seen a lot in your time and have stories of an age most of us have only seen on TV and the movies. Most people are not so lucky to see past 80 with the ability to watch KZbin and make comments as you did. Keep doing what you do because it is obviously working. Personally, I am hoping you reach age 120+. Keep on keepin' on as they said the year I was born (50 years ago). Thank you! I feel a sense of hope in reading your comment.

Well that's a surprise I thought Ran II would be your blue water cruiser for a few more years to come especially with the effort you had put into getting her set up like you have but you obviously have your reasons. I have been following you since you bought her and have enjoyed every episode and have also watched several from Ran I. I agreed with Marin's comments about packing up and little Vera going around her home looking for her toys and food, for her it would be the same as if you moved house and packed everything up. I hope you all enjoy the time ashore catching up with family and friends and look forward to your search for your next home that and can float and cruise the world. 👍🇳🇿

I'm shocked, I wasn't expecting this. You just now got her the way you want her. She is such a nice boat. IMHO, you've been offered an amount you just can't refuse. I agree, the payback must have been substantial to cut the well-begun flight this short. Weird pareon in the sense that next ten-or-so episodes will be about finding yet another boat, putting it together and taking it where the sailing gets interesting. Thats awesome. Time for a Amel 50 or a HR 52 hard top, or Swan 60. Get something that needs some work some get some DIY content for a year or so. That would be the optimal situation for me. Thats what Im looking for in other people being boats. LOL.

Hi guys. I might have just what you need ! We have a 45fty round bigger sailing boat. We bought it from Curacao ! Then did some 11,000 miles gallapogus etc we are now back in the Ukrainian, vat and other cents sorted… We have bee restoring her (new engine 200 miles new fdioaform rig, lotus of life in it..) etc.. sadly i have Parkinsons and we will be unable to complete the refit… what are your thoughts?

I have had my eye on a boat for several months that is in Willemstad, Curacao, that is tied up at a marina where it is Med-moored to a narrow wood plank dock about 4' from, and parallel to, the shore, between two large pilings! The boat is a 1982 cutter-rigged ketch Formosa 68' with a black hull. The pictures show it to be in very good condition inside. It looks to be little used as it's hailing port is Park City, Utah. It is configured with 2 almost identical staterooms mid-forward and 1 master aft, all with "en-suite" heads. The large bow locker is configured with a crew quarter V-berth. The masts are both in-mast furling and the inner forestay has a hank-on jib and and a boom. The forward forestay has a Genoa on a roller furling. There is a teak swim platform on the transom and 2 large polished SS davits affixed high on the transom. It has the shallow draft configuration with a rotating centerboard tha allows for a draft of 5'>11'. This vessel was NOT configured with a bow sprit, but a very few were. It is VERY roomy down below. I don't need one this big but it would sure allow me to have friends on board to help crew for me. The asking price just went down from $200K USD to $175K USD. That is the prime reason I would go for a boat this big. The secondary reason would be to ensure I had the storage room for enough ice cream for a circumnavigation! ;) This search

Maybe you can make a deal similar to what LA Vagabond got whit Outremer and get a Garcia 52 mono or a 52 catamaran, LA Vagabond is moving to a Rapido 60. Outrmer and Garcia are sister company, so a deal is possible. Best of luck

Wow two and a half years!! It seems just a short while ago. My how time flies. I look forward to following you on your adventures with your new boat. My last boat was a Heavenly Twins Catamaran. We kept her on the Chesapeake for twenty eight years until my health gave out. We let her go to a great family and now sail with great people like yourself through You Tube. I was over the moon when you chose the Najad 440 mainly because it was a Scandinavian yacht. I am Australian and have had my 3 favourite channels Ran Sailing, Sail life with Mads and Ava and Free Range sailing. I have been watching all three for some years now. I am stunned, but so excited to see you upgrading. You are emptying your boat on this current Island so maybe, it's your friends here that are going to buy it!! I am not asking, I am happy to wait. That is half of the fun!! Free Range are farming at the moment ( I love watching the farming) so for sailing, it's you and Mads& Ava. I really can see you and Malin on a boat around the 50 feet or more! Such exciting news about the upgrade! Whoever is buy RAN 2 is getting a great yacht.

Sweet footage of the "Cuaheltemoc" (Mexico) and "Cisne Branco" ('White Swan' -- Brazil) coming down the channel. Sailors riding the yardarms with a well-dressed ship is impressive. My crew went aboard both ships, and the "Guayas" (Ecuador). Back in 2012, those ships and more made port in Baltimore, MD, USA. The British Ambassador also visited to declare peace at Ft. McHenry -- 200 years after the War of 1812. If the "Guayas" arrived, they usually have a really GOOD band -- enough to dance to after walking several miles/kilometers, until your feet are sore but happy. 😁 Blessings, S/V Windwalker
