Nothing wrong with a Apprentice they learn fast I have my 7 year old Grandson help me he sweeps the floor gets tools and put away the tools he sands and he does many other small jobs around the shop and he is learning something new every day he has been working for me the last couple of years . You remind me of two outstanding metal men who gave my son his "wings" as he was starting out working on car bodies. Both are gone now, RIP, but he will never forget either of these "MASTERS" for what they taught him. My son often tells other young folks, "When you learn from the best, you are driven to become the best you can be" ! My son has done very well for himself and tries his best to pass his gifts on to anyone who wants to learn his skills. Good on you, Chad for doing the same!

I remember 30 years ago I was wielding aluminum structure tubes for big sky lights. Boss comes down to the shop and says hey this man is with you and he just got out of Vacational. So after two hours I told him all you learn is BS so now we start your real on the job training. He went on to be one of the best portable welder in our area damn good one. For me my eyes got bad so I stop and went on to breaking metal and form work blue prints. So glad Chad is passing his knowledge down to this yound man keeps the fab alive.

Truly surprised we haven't seen this on regular mainstream TV. You need a professional camera crew and the room and creatively way to run it the way you see fit. Or just keep doing what you doing it's awesome. Chad, I love these videos. You are inspiring me to do repairs to my 07 Dodge Ram. It needs cab corners and rockers. I bought a welder a few weeks ago and some electric metal shears last weekend. I've cut up an old hood for some sheet metal and am working on the inner rockers with that for the repairs. Thank you for putting these videos out there. I have overcome some of the fear and apprehension that I had in doing this work. While not a custom build up, this is, I feel, a good start in the realm of metal fab. And I must say, after looking up pictures of you and Jolene, she is quite the looker. Kudos to you and to her!

I do not know Aidan, but I do feel sorry for him. In my lengthy life, I have learned how hard it is to work for a “perfectionist” as Chad obviously is. For a perfectionist - there is only one way to do a job - no matter what he says. That way will be the way Chad would do it - so Aidan needs to lear to read Chad’s mind - and that will not be easy. Interesting to watch this unfold.

Bad Chad has got guts! What a gamble, I had my concerns at first. Looks so unique when he holds up parts of the front end. I looked up the Socal plating truck and am even more anxious to see the front end together. The back end is the coolest truck on the road. The Front end looks like a home run to me. The doors will be a challenge but I'm sure Chad can come up with a good finish. It's funny to read all the comments of people that quit before they begin saying that will never work. Chad hit it out of the park while they cry into their keyboards too scared to build their own idea. That's why they follow what everyone else does and then cry You can't do that.

Hey Chad, weld a little tab on the end of the rod and bend it and then hammer the tab to get that rod out. or put a little tack on the tip of the vice grips then you can yak all you want. If you cannot get the rod out try cutting the bottoms and still enable the doors to be lifted up. if need be. I wouldn't cut them off I like the louvers in the side of the panels I think they look much better but its your decision its your truck. .

Look at a late 50s gull wing mercedes. The door is almost what you are thinking. Big buldge out at the bottom, flat glass area. They hinged it at the top. The only way it would open. I still say use the front half of the merc door and hinges, and open a door from merc sill to ford roof. Do not use the ford hinges at all. It will open fine, and solve entry issues. the rear piece of the hood would open with the door. Leave the hood removable. Or hire the tenet mouse to service the engine ha ha he. RAD ROD by BAD CHAD

Having trained apprentices for many years all signed official apprenticeship documents. Apprenticeships lasted 4 - 5 years taught practical and theory. What is being offered here is a traineeship. A limited skill set for a limited period of time. Then it's down the road or you become surplus to requirements. Yes I'm being picky. I hope the young guy picks up some skills and goes out and finds a proper Apprenticeship.

“Them grinding discs when they’re done…. They $H!T the bed!” I died laughing. Can totally relate to the zip discs. And a fellow proud Nova Scotian, i get the slang and the humour. Also i just want to say, as contrary to what you may think, you do an excellent job of explaining what’s in your head to the audience. Yanno a lot of people may know something and if you were to ask them why they know it? They would just say “ i know cuz i know” but even though YOU “know cuz you know”, you take the time to think why you know and explain it to the audience. For example. Where the filler panel on the hood had to be smoothed out with the flapper wheel…Why??. Well if it’s bumpy the bump will be the first to hit the cab. In your own words “if you get what I’m trying to say”
