Have installed the yoke on our Model 3 and Model Y for a year now and really enjoy them. It took about a week to get use to the yoke
@dt2939 Жыл бұрын
Nobody ever explains Yoke turning correctly. One hand on the underside of the top portion lets you spin it 270 degrees rapidly. Flip your hand to the bottom, 270 degrees the other way, rapidly. Outside of the yoke for driving, inside the yoke for parking lots. It is much better control than a wheel... This is why airplanes have them.
@SCWgreg3 жыл бұрын
BUT! Do you only use one hand to do U turns in a parking lot with a normal wheel??? My guess is you use two hands for the same maneuvers. And the yoke does not snap back any differently the other wheel. One is just round, the other is not. But great looking wheel. I’m very tempted! Thank you.
@EverythingElectrified3 жыл бұрын
To be honest for at least a week or more I was using 2 hands for everything buttttttt now I’m so used to it that I use one hand to do all my turns and it looks way cooler. That being said I actually use 2 hands just to drive the car it feels more natural to drive it with 2 hands now

They do have a micky mouse looking screen and a rectangle but the model 3 is meant to be plain so adding more screens that repeat the same information takes away from the design concept. If you guys want us to try the rectangle screen let us know!

LOVE the yoke, but how do you clean it? Seems like the area where I grip my hand on the left side is all worn already. Only had it for about a year. The one side looks like crap.

Yes, not gonna lie mine is also worn by now. It is in white so I expected some wear and tear. This is also me getting a car detail every month. I try to clean it best with soap and water. It does clean up easily but gets very dirty quickly.

How has the white leather held up since you installed it? I saw some reviews that said that the leather wrapping on the yoke is inferior in quality and wears out faster than you would expect. Thoughts?
@EverythingElectrified Жыл бұрын
100% accurate. The white leather has worn out like crazy. It’s constantly dirty but easy to clean however it does have tears in it. I think the black would be a better option in general. Also I think there might be better material now. I got this yoke when yoke was barely popular.

If the battery is disconnected then the horn doesn't go off
@EverythingElectrified2 жыл бұрын
We still have the main battery connected. If you want to disconnect that it is located under the back seat. The 12v battery in the front control functions in the front of the vehicle. We did it so it doesn’t trigger the car on. Hansshow doesn’t suggest to disconnect any battery but we believe it to be good practice.

It really depends on what the issue you are having. Removing one bolt to change the steering wheel doesn’t effect anything but companies are always out to avoid paying for things. At the end of the day I can just put the original back on since it’s just 1 bolt that doesn’t affect anything on the car.

It's impossible to justify yoke when you don't have driver instrumental cluster. And until it's communicating by wires. Yoke should rotate 90 degree right/left maximum. Full rotation just keep stressing that there is no practical need/use and the full idea is supported by wow-(very-short)-effect only. And it's not OEM 8)
