Peanuts aren't nuts(they're legumes, the same family as peas), but are often packaged in factories that handle actual nuts. The warning is there because that's the law. They're not listing nuts on the ingredients but run a risk of being contaminated so they must include the warning to ensure people are aware of the risk if they have a nut allergy(but aren't allergic to peanuts).

@@dragontear1638 I tend to view the world with the mindset that people are the same (for better or worse) as they have been for the past 2 3 and 4 thousand years. The difference is A) we have societies to protect and elevate us, B) values change with technology (and therefore every generation will have a different value system) and C) with technology being so infused into our daily lives...social media specifically...we are hyper aware of everything happening that probably already has happened but wasn't put on blast.

@@einrazer Pretty much how I feel, though you've put it much more eloquently than I could, good post, makes a lot of sense. The internet has been termed as a 'loudspeaker' for the eccentric and deranged, among other things, so that can skewer perception of issues.

Pretty much it. I've always disliked being around very young children because they are a reminder of everything humans are by default. At birth we are selfish, exclusionary, vindictive, and narcissistic. All positive social qualities we have are picked up in social training mostly during youth, some of which the more precocious among us can perform on their own. We are vile, primitive beasts that must be taught to be otherwise.

The terrorist negotiations warning reminded me of doing my jungle survival/ DofE Awards Scheme I did when I was 13/15, when living in Singapore. my father was in the RAF, he was stationed at Changi. Anyway, we used to go out and do our DofE expeditions from my school, to the jungle in Malaya. This was at a time when Japanese soldiers were being located in the jungles of Malaya (As well as the Philippines). My mates and I thought it would be brilliant to actually find a Japanese soldier, and bring him in, we’d be famous (for 15 mins). We never thought it might be dangerous, and we’d all end up dead, in all likelihood.

I didnt realise I was a cabbage until I moved here. It never happens now - my eyes now work like a normal human.
