Great idea. Release the idea to the communitiy and let the clever minds dream up ways to apply this. I cannot wait to see how it gets applied. I do, however, cringe thinking about getting the inevitable cut from those bolts that are waaay too long.

Thanks for watching and commenting. You're right, those long bolts aren't gonna be friendly. It may be worth getting shorter ones to replace the long ones that come with hanger straps.

You folks have never been poor. That is obvious. To make a sliding drawer can be done much cheaper and so dang easy. Leave the ends of the 3/4 conduit open on the ends where you want the drawer to slide in and out. Install 1/2 conduit into those open ends. Bam! Drawer slide. I never thought being poor for so long, would become such an advantage.

That’s a great point and I’ve used it in a lot of situations but sometimes the load is too heavy or don’t move smoothly enough for a particular application. This might be a solution for that.

That’s a pretty bold assumption to make after seeing a 4 minute video lol telescoping conduit is a good solution for certain problems but this is different in a lot of ways. You can’t really create a proper drawer in your example. In order for the 1/2” conduit to slide in and out effectively there can’t be anything like wood attached to it. The front pipe could have something attached to it but it won’t offer much support since it’s a single pipe. Maybe you could do the opposite and secure wood or whatever to 3/4” conduit and slide that over top of 1/2”. That still creates issues though because the drawer won’t be supported on one end. Obviously my “drawer” in the video didn’t have anything attached it but I was showcasing the sliding aspect. You could finish of the rectangle in the back, add a piece of wood, and still have a drawer that slides completely in and out of the frame. Thanks for the comment.

@@ElementDIY yeah your shower is a good example of when telescoping conduit would make sense and work how you need it to.

@@MakerPipe Actually, i do know how. Since i can't upload a drawing, here. An i am too busy to make the actual item, i'll let you go on. I learned how to think outside the box before most people knew what the box meant.
