I was watching FR and saw them but thought they were heading to ASH in a repositioning. Looks like they all did well regardless. Pilots and Tower.

The initial pilot speaking talks too quickly and when he gets excited, it sounds slightly garbled. Perhaps that’s why the other pilot took over radio communications?

This would have been a good time to announce Mayday Mayday Mayday. It would have gotten everybody's attention, and would helped with the English second language issue.

Is there a reason why American pilots in particular don't seem to use the Mayday or Pan Pan terminology so much as others? Just non-standard phraseology?
