@@stevenrmclaren would have to be an SDS200 or the older BCD996p2 although I'm not sure the 996p2 does GPS based scanning. Either way most law enforcement has or will very likely go encrypted .......so a scanner is debate ably only of limited use for the cost. The 996p2 is an older model and will be phased out used ones go $400-$500 the SDS200 or its sister handheld the SDS100 run up to $700 plus options IF you can find one in stock. I got mine a few months ago and its a masterpiece of a scanner but he state police around here went fully encrypted years back. Either way you have to have a good level of experience listening to understand and know what you are hearing.

I remember being around 12 or 13 when these cars came out. Its crazy to think that it was that long ago that these wonderful cars came out. I'm absolutely grateful that I grew up during the 2000s, there was a lot of cool things around during that time.

The design didn't change much in the last 20 years. new Benzes have LED lights, more screens and are rounder but the general layout didn't change. The differences between cars from the 50s,60s,70s,80s and 90s is much bigger. Accept for the VW Beetle ofc

There really is an aspect of this being a game. You buy the best laser/radar countermeasures, and the cops have to get better equipment to do their job. 'Round-and-round it goes, and all the tech improves. And, the manufacturers keep being employed. And, before anyone criticizes the hooliganism of fast driving, these must be the most attentive drivers on the road. They are paying attention to everything... playing the cat-and-mouse game.

BearTracker 885 Hybrid CB Radio/Digital Scanner... Honestly I ran a scanner in my car for years. My best success was Radar Detector, laser jammer and Waze. I would use a CB Radio too. POoice scanner only helped me once. I can't count how many times Waze or my Radar Detector alone saved me

I watched a video by a truck driver from his high resolution audio/video dash camera. He had one of those radar jammers installed on his truck to protect himself in case he was found to be going a little over the speed limit. Fines involving trucks are six to ten times the fines for cars. When he had it installed he had them put it in so it was not readily visible and had the power switch, that did not look like a power switch, mounted in a hidden space. In the video the road conditions were such that he was driving under the speed limit and he was coming to an intersection where he was going to turn onto another road so there was really no legitimate reason for the police to stop him. And yet, as he was trying to accelerate to road speed after making his turn he saw the police with lights flashing behind him. So before starting to slow down he reached over and turn the power off to the radar jammer and then slowed and came to a stop. And sure enough, the only reason they stopped him is because the radar they were using could not get a reading on his speed when it was pointed at him even though it was obvious he was not speeding. But because it was turned off before they stopped him and nothing was readily visible and even though they did a thorough inspection under the hood and in the cab both visually and with an electronic detector device of some sort, they were not able to find anything to charge him with and had to let him go.
