She is the incompetent person (in Hulking), and explains to Bruce that she is better at it than him. She has no self awareness and its epitomizes the modern pussy-hat wearing wine drinking single woman. It's the privileged woman that puts the weight of actual oppressed women on her shoulders. It's as if they make womanhood a collective experience, therefore get to talk on behalf of all of them. And they take the worst of women's experiences and apply it to their first world life, as if they are equal in oppression just by being a woman. The writers think they are saving this character from the male dominated patriarchy that existed at the time she was created. So because her comic counterpart has values that represent the time period in which she was created, they need to empower her with modern day feminism. So, she goes from a character that embraces the hero in her, to someone that selfishly believes that being forced to be a hero is oppression. Modern Feminism is no different than toxic masculinity. It rejects femininity for pushing women to be like men. And when women do that, they turn into assholes. And this She-Hulk is an whinny asshole.

I mean there is a nuance difference, what is she being angry about, and how is she trying to respond pre-hulk was she trying to hit them?? Or was she controlling her anger because she didn’t want to say how she felt because it might cost her job. Versus you’re analogy which is a man who is full tilt does not care about what happens, if he is being violent. If he’s just yelling I see this on a daily bases sand which man arguing with cashier, line cooks arguing with prep cooks, construction workers, warehouse workers , security. So no the two aren’t the same scenario the only reason a guy would be seen as violent is if he was being belligerent and or hitting stuff which is a display of force and violence it’s a challenge and a threat. Society just has counter measures for people out of control. The equivalent to what you’re example is a Karen and no one not even fucking Karen’s like Karen’s they’re belligerent they’re sometimes violent and everyone treats them with disdain so if you act like that and get mad people don’t like you that’s on you.

On the bright side, it's a realistic depiction of what would happen if someone with this mindset got superpowers. So this show is a case study of the origin point of a small-time villain; honestly, it calls to mind the origins of the final villain in Megamind, which reflexively calls back to Spiderman. You are bang on, Thing is It's a strange choice to make her such a Karen given that in the comics she is so different - a bit of an introvert, kind of not 100 percent sure of herself. The thing about turning into a Hulk it is a physical manifestation of the person's inner psyche. So when Bruce became the Hulk it was all of his inner turmoil, rage, anger, and the need to protect himself and smash anything that could hurt him - made flesh from the trauma he suffered growing up. Where as when Jen Hulk's out all of her need to be this super outgoing, confident and strong female came out - something she longed to be. That's why she isn't some angry monster. That would have been far more interesting character development than little to none we got with her transformation in the show. But I guess as the show progresses if she becomes less of the Wine drinking Karen and learns to be humble then that's an interesting development. But I don't think she will and it would go away from that comic book version of the character which was so good.

(I'm not sure Wanda counts, we only know for sure the temple was fucked, and some interpret the red flash as hinting at her escape.) Not to mention the insane "the MCU's moved on from the Blip" comment in that interview. People haven't gotten over loved ones who died from Covid (up to 2 years ago), 9/11/2001, the freaking Holocaust?? Not only would people in the world have plenty of trauma lingering or stemming from that, we still see discussions of them today. Half of everyone in the universe dying for 5 years and coming back, not to mention MoM takes place at most a year after Endgame? By the time of She-Hulk we should have WAY more stuff to cover. Hell they could have worked that into the legal angle. As Fringy pointed out in his Endgame video, the Avengers didn't warn ANYONE on Earth let alone the universe at large that they were about to do the UnSnap. Have a case brought against Bruce for doing the UnSnap, for all the humanitatian chaos - potentially even the Flagsmashers - and have Jen demand to take him as a client.

@ARFthegodking2 жыл бұрын
She-Hulk is, like almost all woke garbage, a hero written by villains. When you write a character that is supposed to be heroic by asking; "What would I do in this situation?",which is totally natura,l and the character is a villain forced into the role of a hero that says more about you than anything. The woke have been identifying as villains for a long time. The New Guy comic is a perfect example. These edgelord wokies will either spell their own doom or the doom of civilization. Wokeness is the ring of power and these people are Sauron and hid evil horde. They change LOTR because they can't stand that it condemns them for the destructive, malignant force that they are.
@Speedstreak2 жыл бұрын
This is absolutely true! Wokeness is a virus similar to the Cybugs from Wreck It Ralph.
@sleepykittyH2 жыл бұрын
Hey. That hit it on the head!
@josecarlosmoreno97312 жыл бұрын
What I wish more people understood is that wokeness isn't organic, it is imposed from above. The rich and powerful are still the same people as always, but they have hired and imposed what used to be a fringe group of mental children onto the rest of us. Why? Because it is socially destructive, it turns even the most mundane and innocent parts of life into a war of all against all where every identity has to fight for supremacy, with the few having more social capital than the majority. It's inherently anti democratic and anti solidarity, hyper individualism. This in turn is very beneficial to the rich as it prevents the common people from realizing that the reason everything is more expensive, why the quality of all goods, services, and entertainment are increasingly shit and scarce, why we have no protections from being unjustly fired, etc, increasing rates of mental illness, isolation and socially maladaptive behavior, endless wars, etc, etc. All of these and more problems have their root in the rich pursuing max profit at minimum cost. Therefore to prevent the common people uniting against the elites for leeching on and destroying society, they impose socially destructive ideologies through their propaganda networks, education systems and HR depts. It is no coincidence that the rich tend to be both socially left wing and economically right wing, both are individualist ideologies that kill community and the family. The only counter is the opposite, whatever you want to call it, faith and family left, religious populism, conservative socialism, distributist/georgist/integralist, right wing anti capitalism, whatever, what matters is we need to oppose the individualists and the rich in favor of tight knit community and the working class that actually contributes to society rather than sitting in a comfy office telling others what to do and who gets hired/fired.
@josecarlosmoreno97312 жыл бұрын
@Neon Thunderbird I'm not sure what you mean. I agree both sides are the same. I'm not sure how my bias is part of the problem when the rich and powerful seem to hate both religion/traditional values and collectivism. Idk, from reading history it seems clear that capitalism destroys the family and society and only got better thanks to the communist threat and the labor movement spilling blood to fight the robber barons. Now that the communist threat is gone, the labor movement was crushed and the capitalist were free to pursue liberalism as a replacement for the more socially, morally minded Christianity. And it appears woke shit came to prominence as a counter to emerging working class consciousness during the Great Recession of 2008. Idk about other groups, but at least among certain Catholic circles, there is a strong movement towards a socially conservative working class ideology.

I feel you, my man. This exact complete lack of self awareness women often demonstrate manages to piss me off more than I'd like to admit. Like the world owes them for having to suffer the inconveniences of life. I don't think you know Karl May, he wrote books about a native american during western time. Some 40 people whined about how it's racist or whatnot so now the publisher has discontinued the books. I've said this elsewhere but they don't even get the characterisation of Jen or She-hulk right. Jen is quite a meek character in the comics and her confidence is fairly non-existent. She mostly blends into the background and no-one gives her a second look. I severely doubt she was ever cat-called as Jen. She really struggles in social situations. When Jen is saved by Bruce and ends up getting her powers. At first she's obviously like WTF? But as the comics go on she discovers she prefers being She-hulk over Jen as it gives her the confidence she was lacking. She finds people pay attention to her now. Bruce obviously constantly struggled with his choice. Even though it saved her life he hated himself for turning her into what he considered a monster. During one of the arcs She-hulk has a talk with Bruce and thanks him for doing it. In this show however Jen is not lacking in self confidence and it makes it look like She-hulk and Jen are the same person when they're not. The transformation doesn't effect her as badly as Bruce who loses all control to Hulk but to say Jen and She-hulk are the same is not true. They do have a vastly different experience to Bruce and Hulk but that's the only reason She-hulk is so beloved. She embraced her change while Bruce didn't. The only way this show would have a good show is if it took place far in the past of the MCU and still had Hulk and Bruce as separate entities so you could compare Hulk and She-Hulk life's and choices. Other things to note She-hulk does have greater control than Bruce but it comes at a cost that she's not as durable or strong as Hulk. As after all Hulk is the strongest there is. Of course MCU version Hulk is in a really bad state. Hulk pretty much died after getting destroyed in a 1v1 with Thanos in infinite war and than endgame came along and everything to do with Hulk is done offscreen. The whole cool premise behind Hulk is the duel personality. However MCU literally hates any decent character so goodbye Hulk. Professor Hulk itself is in my opinion a really really bad idea. I think even the comics didn't keep him round for every long as he was a boring character. I dislike it as you limit yourself. You can't have Hulk going on a rampage or Bruce hating himself and his choices. You lose an entire character dimension to one of the most beloved characters Marvel owns. You literally complete Bruce's character arc as he has got rid of his worst fear and enemy the Hulk.

I had a nemesis in school once,we brawled this 1time after school and we busted each other's nose and lips (not too drastic) and I knocked him down and we haven't talked or acknowledged each other for 2years, after that when I received an award on the school stage I saw him in the 2nd row,he smiled and gave me a nod I did the same,we became pretty chill around each other for a couple of months before I left the school and I could tell that there was mutual respect, I wonder how he's doing right now

Funny thing, way back in the 'Age of Reason' (ala.. a decade or two ago ;0) Such a scene would have been a fairly TYPICAL thing in a film, story, etc.. exposing a character with a rather acknowledged ridiculous, shallow world-view, ..right before undergoing some kind of humiliating, eye-opening 'slap to the head' life-lesson that turns them completely around.. or else they eventually come to a rather bad end. Trouble being.. Now they're supposedly 'serious' about this stuff, think it's a virtue they're going to run with... and it's just the show as a whole that comes crashing to a (thankful) end. Strange though.. because with the silly way it's all so bluntly acted-out... Taking it all from a slightly differing point of view?, you could almost swear the makers were actually exposing/RIDICULING the whole 'woke/modern feminist' thingie with a show like this.

God I wish they were mocking the woke movement with this. A good slap of reality does wonders.

If that's what they're going for then I think it's moving a little to slow to that slap of reality. If I remember correctly, invincible moved the death of the guardians of the globe forward because they were worried about lost interest. That's what will happen if it's not the next episode. Though, I guess you can extend the time a bit if you have something else to keep the audience engaged. Hulk's gone, and no other side character was introduced so they have nothing right now.

@@lightningpenguin8937 Nah, they'll run it into the ground.. Like a lot of recent shows have gone. But think they're elevating 'virtues' while doing so. ..And yet.. the obvious absurdities will remain too. It's like these people are at war - primarily with THEMSELVES... they've got problems. After all, doesn't the gal here in this show claim that the 'natural everyday state of women today is.. anger and fear'? REALLY?! That's how women should be day-in and day out? It's played off as a joke of course, ..but that's also rather illuminating if you consider it a bit more.

As a rural American I refuse to believe that catcalling is a real thing rather than something that only happens in tv shows and movies.

I know most wotn agree, but I still think she hulk should literally look like normal hulk but with long hair. Kinda lame that shes just a tall, strong lady. It's not like hulk is just a kidna tall, fit guy. Hes a FUCKINH HULK

Her previous comic before rebooting yet again did have her as a more masculine looking, powerful and aggressive Hulk. It did not last long.

She Hulk is so powerful, she believes she could defeat Thanos and probably sue him.

To be honest if I was cat-called even once, I would be flattered. 😂 I personally think cat-calling is fine. The line is crossed when it turns into harassment and stalking.

Greetings from Croatia !!! What showrunners don't realize is if a person is driven by fear and hatred. They ultimately become VILLAINS.

If she gets served a humongous slice of Humble Pie in the next episodes, then maybe the whole setup of her being ultra-woke might pay-off… But I highly doubt Marvel are that self-aware! Edit: Shad & Co. please stop wasting time on Disney content! We’d rather you review better films and shows. Thanks! 🙏

To me, it looks like they may actually do it. I mean, when she says all those disrespectful things to Bruce, like "i suffer way more than you" and "i'm infinitely better at controling my emotions than you" She literally starts turning into a she-hulk, proving that she's wrong and she can't control her emotions at all. Bruce just gives her a small smirk, something like "see? i told you." I mean, if the showrunners wanted to pander, they would show that she's right.
@TheGamingAngel182 жыл бұрын
@@OKtheChannel No because she's immediately able to put a lid on She-Hulk right after he says "see" and he reactions with surprise. Showing how she can control it so easily after just getting her powers while it took a years before Bruce can have some control. They were absolutely treating her in the right.

When I was a freshman in college my introduction to business class I had to do an improv presentation on essentially the halo effect. Two candidates of equal credentials one pretty one not, who do you hire? Complete consensus in the room of 20 some people all agreed that they would probably hire the better looking individual. I use the justification that if you had to choose an office with a view. Each office had the exact same stuff in it one looked out over a mountain valley one looked out over a trash dump. which one would you choose?
