No way on this earth am I going to start giving them their own 🤣 They still use “no tears” children shampoos and kids bubble bath products because they are designed for sensitive skin. Baffles me how these women do this to their kids just for attention, because it benefits the child in zero ways! As someone who figured out how to unrestrict the internet, I found out about makeup around 9 and skincare around 11. I am now 14 and I genuinely don't think I should be wearing pounds of makeup and skincare, I know I don't need it but seeing celebs and influencers from a young age using all these products fked up my brain horrible, no 14 year old should be unhealthily insecure either physically or mentally.

I came here to say the same thing. I'm a millennial myself. I'm 34. I have 3 biological kids. I also have step children whom are older than my bio children. My husband is a young Gen X. We absolutely no way in hell would allow this. We don't even spend that kind of money on our own skincare! I honestly fear the self-confidence issues that this type of behavior and idea of needing such a complex can care routine at such a young age may cause. Our teens use the brand CeraVe, bc that's what was recommended by my dermatologist.

Gen Xer here, raised by parents from the Silent Generation. They grew up at the end of The Depression and during WW2. When I was under 12, we had pretend makeup or mom would pretend to put stuff on our faces, because, yes, we wanted to mimic her. When we hit puberty, mom would start introducing us to skincare by getting a consultation at the Clinique counter. If I ever pitched a fit about not getting something I desperately wanted (I REALLY wanted some Calvin Klein jeans), then it was simple, "If you continue whining, then we go home and you get nothing" And guess what- she followed through. So much is wrong now: allowing their kids on social media, not using the word "no", and the increase in consumerism. I thought the 80's were really bad, but I seriously never thought it would get this bad. These parents are raising children who don't understand that the world will not revolve around their wants nor what value is- be it monetary or personal.

As a 2011 kid, I can confirm this whole internet thing is OUTRAGEOUS. People in my class do not know how to write a proper paragraph/essay and has trouble with spelling words like “constitutional” or “exceptionally”. On my bus, a girl my age told me her skincare routine. It was very long. And before everyone starts bashing at a random 13 year old (me), she has no acne or pimples whatsoever. She does not need any makeup products. As a matter of fact, no 12/13 year old should be wearing makeup. Just sunscreen. I will never raise my kids like these kids.

I don’t look at makeup in stores that are expensive and be like “Holy shoot I need this just so I can be pretty and not have wrinkles!” (I’m not saying every kid is like this but I’m just getting the vibes.) What really drives me crazy is the people online who say this is okay! One of the biggest reasons I get is "well, you can start getting acne at 10" and "when I was 11 I had really bad acne." People, stop applying the minority to the majority! If you're that young and have bad acne, you need to see a skincare professional and work out a treatment plan. Products like these should ONLY be used by children this young if they're under MEDICAL SUPERVISION. And since when was acne really a bad thing? It is completely natural! This teaches kids that the worst thing that could happen to them is getting a pimple. Or wrinkles!! Parents who encourage this honestly make me sick. These little girls are going to grow up being so insecure it isn't even funny. Not to mention all the skin-professionals saying that their skin will age faster because of all these products. They're going to be 16 looking 30! All a normal, everyday 10-year-old needs for healthy skin is to drink water and wear sunscreen outside. I'm 23. I NEVER had a skincare routine or wore foundation, and my skin is actually pretty healthy. I should probably wear sunscreen but that's it! All this because I didn't destroy my skin at 10.

i mean i started getting acne at 10/11 and didn’t have proper products so i have a lot of scars. the thing these kids aren’t being taught is that less is more. if you put any more that four or five products on your face regularly (sometimes even less if you have sensitive skin) you’re just gonna break out more from irritation. a gentle wash, gentle moisturizer, sunscreen in the summer, and a gentle acne product (if needed) is all they need. they’re just so obsessed with looking cool that they’re not even thinking about the actual products going on their face

I agree with this. If they see their mom's doing it, they're probably going to want it anyways even without the influencers influencing. I think the problem here is kids that were just handed an iPad at a young age without supervision, are not being influenced by strangers to use products that will harm them because it's trendy and those same parents are letting it happen. I want to add, we know more about skincare now then our parents did, so teaching our kids about the routine of taking care of their skin without allowing them access products they don't need, isn't a bad thing. Wash your face, put on light lotion (if needed), and sunscreen. Even talking to your kid in an age appropriate way about marketing and how some products will cause the problems they claim to fix just so companies can make money so you can't believe everything someone online claims.

Lol I love your videos on this topic and I keep telling y’all that we are giving us millinials too much knowledge credit. Us 35 and older mills do not know much about all this skincare stuff. Believe me. I just figured out all I’m suppose to do like two years ago 😂. And most of use are obsessed with our childhood. We would have loved to know about all this stuff earlier in life. I think that’s why we are letting them do this.

as a 14 year old, i have a moisturizer and an spf stick and one concealer. thats literally it. when i was 10, i was on a trampoline on a lake getting thrown off by soap and my older cousins while we slid around. i couldnt walk for a week because of the injuries from that and tubing, and i would still do it. these kids look like they would cry when they get their first pimple.

This reminds me of my own experience as a young child. Except instead of skin care it was food, and my mom ended up unintentionally giving me an ED. I don't want to type some of the things she said to me bc looking back, it's kinda awful and I don't wanna trigger people. But some of the things mirror phrases like "so you don't get wrinkles" or "the younger the better" and it honestly just break my heart because I seriously don't think these mothers understand what they're doing to their kids. The seeds they're planting on their young brains. The life long mental and physical problems these people will have when their older. I cry for these kids knowing the issues they will continuously fight against for the rest of their lives. And I'm angry with the parents who get defensive and refuse to listen. And then with the Internet on top of it all, amplifying everything.

im a 13 year old born in 2011, i class myself as gen z because even the thought of myself being gen alpha is horrifying to me! the only skincare ive ever used is moisturiser and face wash and i have never once thought "oh hey, drunk elephant has a new product let me FORCE MY PARENTS to buy it for me and if they dont. temper tantrum time. gen alpha is messed up by millennial parents im afraid. my parents are gen x and im so happy they raised me in a way that i dont feel the need for anti-aging syrum at 13. plus most skincare on children under the age of 13 causes oily skin and can lead to spots! its unhealthy. my internet access is limited and strict and ive never been allowed anything other than youtube and pintrest and ill never even TOUCH tiktok or instagram until im at least 15.

I was raised in such a way that I only want yt for entertainment, messenger and discord for chatting with friends, and Pinterest for inspiration. I have Snapchat too, but stopped using it at the end of my teen years. I only used it to mess around with filters when I was bored, and now when I'm bored I spend that time clearing space on my phone by deleting old photos lmao. Instagram and Twitter just seem too toxic to me... No thanks. Or excuse me... Instagram and X

I am 11 years old and I am shocked that kids 3 YEARS OLD are using this. I don’t want any skincare stuff because I don’t need it or have to use it. My mom believes this is bad for children and not even teenagers should use it. Not even she uses it. All my friends are starting to have it or telling me that I should use it. Literally 2 months ago nobody in my class had skincare or anything but 1 girl had it, and now ALL the girls have it. I think they are starting to build up insecurities about their bodies. And they tell their parents to buy it. This is really sad and there should be an age restriction for these products.

Jesus loves you John 3:13-21 (NIV) 13 No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven--the Son of Man. 14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.” 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God. Acts 3:19 (NIV) Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,

I can’t help but think these women have no real friends, so they turn their daughters into their best friends too soon. An old friend of mine calls her 11 year old her best friend and lets her walk out looking like an adult. They want someone to do the things they love with them. My friend says her girl has been there for her when no one else has been. She’s too young for that responsibility! I tried to be there in the past. We grew up together and she dumped my family. Her daughter has her own friends! It’s no wonder child trafficking is so bad right now. They’re not protecting them. They’re using them. I wonder how many of them are married. My old friend is single, and doesn’t seem to have any close friends. Maybe most of them are single and friend-less. I’d be shocked if a husband/father would be so ok with this everyday. If they are, that’s pretty sad.

When I was 13 I had severe acne and a very oily skin, my mom took me to an amazing dermatologist who ran lab tests, prescribed me 3 products specifically for my skin, a proper following and she solved that situation very quickly. Obviously she told me everything I needed to know about how to treat my skin. She retired and now her daughter is my dermatologist. Today I’m 33 years old and my skin routine is prescribed, no more than 4 products and works well for me. My makeup is simple and prescribed as well, I know not every product will work for me, so I always follow my dermatologist’s advice. My whole routine doesn’t require more than 40$ at the drugstore. It was sad to see 10 year olds asking for skincare and makeup as Christmas gifts. All I cared about when I was that age was reading, painting, getting good grades and learn how to swim.

These children gonna look 40 before they have finished high school with all the chemicals they rub on their sensitive skin. I also think it's crazy that those Sephora moms that buy makeup and skincare stuffs for their kids for clout are probably the same moms that screams the pdfile word at a toy company bc their water play dolls are anatomically correct and complains that fashion dolls looks like s-workers. Who remember when there was this fashion trend many many years ago where kids as young as 5 was dressed in bralets/short tops, miniskirt/hotpants and shoes with heels until one they ppl woke up and started to realize that the fashion was really inappropriate. I remember H&M was the main company in the controversy, which isn't surprising.
