Hey guys, I’d like to clear up the false information being spread about Sephora donating to Trump. I and Chase looked into this and there is zero record of Sephora or their parent company LVMH making donations to Trump. This misinformation is stemming from a TikTok siting Sephora as donating to the Trump campaign. In fact, LVMH has been sited as donating majorly to the democrats according to opensecrets.org. Please see my current Instagram story from Charlotte Palermino of Dieux. It’s the best explanation of this I’ve seen. And let’s all please look into things before we blindly believe everything we see. Unfortunately, that’s exactly how we got where we are now in this country.

I also really appreciate the creators list because I am personally having an absolutely awful time clicking on and paying attention to videos that are beauty only. I get that there’s a time and a place for that. There has to be. But I am not there yet. I am not at a place where I can handle hearing a review from someone who is acting like it’s business as usual. I came across someone IRL yesterday that when asked what they thought would happen to actual friends of theirs in marginalized communities, they with a straight face looked at me and said nothing. They’ll be fine. Somebody who doesn’t even pretend to care about the economy, but they literally just don’t believe the things that these people straight out, said that they were gonna do…. it’s really hard living in a world where it’s not just the callousness the selfishness and the hate but the divorce from reality itself. I feel like I’m walking towards a cliff with a blindfold on already, but like it’s truly so much worse than my actual nightmares.

I so appreciate you and I cannot find the right words to adequately express this to you. I'm frustrated with other creators as well. They refer to "it being a bad week" or something else without specifying what they are talking about but we all know. I guess that's their choice/their channel (Ironic words). In their comments are a lot of the Karens going after other commenters who are more direct with their pain. They are emboldened indeed and to see the other open commentors go unprotected is gross. I'm not sure what my own next steps are. Also, I agree that social media has a huge impact. A lot of the pundits finally are acknowledging that power - would have been nice for them to say that a few months ago.

Thank you so much for posting this. I have been struggling so much. I cried for so long but now I just feel numb. I can’t make sense of the fact that so many people voted against my rights as a queer woman. I completely agree that we need to stand together right now. We cannot isolate ourselves or abandon each other. We need to lean on each other and take care of each other as much as possible. I’ve been trying to stay off social for my own mental health but I had a feeling this would be a helpful video to watch. Thank you for continuing to speak out. Thank you for helping me feel less alone. Thank you for all you do 💗💗

Thank you Cate ❤️ Edit: I think we already follow most of the same people, which is how your channel was initially shown to me, but a creator I recently found and have been loving is Evangeline Molly. I think you might like her, too.

Cate, I have watched you for years. Thank you for your presence. As a Black woman professor, one of the questions that I asked my feminism classes was “can Black women trust White women?” The election proved (again) NO! I will still watch some makeup content and take care of my family but I am tapping out because the USA hates Black women. We are the most educated and we cannot do enough 😢😢😢

Wow you’re a racist self-righteous ahole with serious internal misogyny 🤮🤮🤮 basing judgement on skin color is what you’re supposed to be educated against yet here you are supporting it? I’m a mixed race Latina and I see how dangerous and hateful your blame game really is. Yuck.

I’ve been waiting for your post election video. I’m feeling waves of disbelief, anger and grief. Watching creators carry on as if nothing happened is not ok. That you for your work.

At 72 after fighting for civil rights, women’s rights and against Vietnam Nam, my heart is broken that democracy was sold for a loaf of bread! Many of the Booktubers I follow have spoken out but reading is a political act in my opinion. My dog has been a godsend as well.

Thank you❤ Nail on the head. Immediately after hearing the election results first thoughts were “misogyny” and “selfish”! Also, it’s not just white women, the Hispanic conservatives are sizable and misogyny is certainly internalized.

I would love a list of content creators as recommended by you. I am gutted right now, and continuously on the verge of tears over the election. Thank you for being here in this space, it matters. ❤

Thanks Cate for stepping up. I have noticed how some content creators are talking about how many red friends they have when they were previously quite outspoken for dems.

Thank you for using your platform and influence for such important human rights issues. I’ve been so disappointed by how many content creators with large platforms say nothing. Silence in the face of oppression is siding with the oppressor.

Bravo to you! Finally a beauty content creator who is willing to discuss important issues regardless of the consequences. I will support you on this channel. Wish you would include all your links to information here on KZbin because I have limited my social media consumption and don't have Instagram.
@catethegreatbeauty11 күн бұрын
You do not need an Instagram account to go to my profile and screenshot the Prochoice list! I include what I can here on KZbin but the fact is that there’s no way for me to share a lot of what I post on Instagram here on KZbin. The platform does not allow for it.
