Can you write a love letter to your home? I know you weren't originally in love with it when you bought it, but what are the great things you want the next family to see? Or what have you learned to love about this house? Change the energy vibe that this house is giving off. Are people feeling your desperation, unhappiness when they visit? Feel what it will feel like to hear that your realtor has a fantastic offer!! Feel what it will feel like when you sign those closing papers. Children are resilient, all will be alright!

Born and raised Catholic here (no longer practicing). I was raised in the South so arguing with Southern Baptists about this is a norm lol You are SPOT on! They are intercessors. We literally say in the prayers “St. so and so pray for us” “Blessed mother pray for us”. We’re not praying TO them. It’s like when your mom has passed on and you say you feel like she’s still watching over you. Catholics aren’t sitting around literally worshiping and bowing down to the saints. They are patrons of their thing. St. Joseph is the patron saint of homes and family (hence the bury him to sell your house thing). So you put a request in to the patron to intercede on your behalf WHILE you move your feet. Burying the statue is an act of faith. You literally bury St. Joseph, say ONE prayer, walk away, sit back, and wait for God to do his thing. His statue IS your mustard seed of faith in a sense. I hope my ramblings make sense. I have my own issues with the Catholic faith but idol worship is NOT a thing and a definite misconception.

Does your realtor do a feedback sheet? Ours had a standard form asking things like what was your favourite thing about the house, how do you feel it is priced, are you interested in a second viewing, other feedback etc. It was really helpful for us when we were trying to sell to see an outsiders perspective.

Curious, y’all have two vehicles right? Isn’t one paid in full? Have you thought about selling it and being a one vehicle family? We’re a one vehicle family and it takes some getting used to, some planning with work etc, but it can work and help tremendously with knocking down debt. Realtor here! If you're not getting much activity and it's been on the market for a few months- ask your realtor what they are doing to market your home.. ask to make changes to anything you dont like! If they don't, cancel your listing agreement and find a new realtor!

We tried to sell our house on and off for three years. It was so frustrating. But our house sold at the exact time a house in our dream neighborhood went on the market. Had our house sold earlier we would have settled on something else we wouldn’t have been nearly as happy with. It will sell when the time is right!

Completely understand the behind the scenes stuff for brands, etc.. My husband ran a Masonry business for 25 years. When people want an estimate, you go to the location, take pictures, measure everything out, talk to owner, research supply costs, add up hours, submit the estimate after hours of work and possibly not even get hired. We had our house on the market with one realtor for six months. No showings. He only did open houses (5). No interest at all. After the 6 month contract with him was up, we listed with a different agent and she sold it in 13 days! The first realtor was someone we knew from years ago and we felt bad saying anything about him not pushing our house, but you have to look out for yourselves! The new agent was someone we researched and picked based on her awards and reviews. She has since sold another home for us in just a few weeks also (hubby’s dads house he inherited). We also buried a St. Joseph in the yard somewhere in there but I am not sure if it really worked or not. Good luck!

Something I learned when going through a similar situation with my family is sometimes our negative energy from the situations in our lives cause our house to absorb that energy. When others come into our home they unknowingly feel the energies and either feel comfort (because it's familiar energy) or they flee because it is uncomfortable. Smudging and praying through the house to remove all negative emotions, thoughts and energies from the house and replace it with peace and contentment will help when others enter your home. They will then feel that energy instead of the upset going on with you guys during this transition time. Our atmosphere is a direct reflection of what is happening within and we broadcast those energies into everything that is around us and belongs to us. Bless your home and watch things change.:)

Im sure you have money you put down that could cushion that decision. I know it’s hard! But keep in mind that another 6 months in that house will cost y’all $21,000+. The St Joseph thing is not in scripture. Im really not trying to preach at you but if you are believers - you need to Trust the Lord that he will do this - he will direct your paths. The Bible says “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all things will be added to you” Matthew 6:33. And you shall have no other Gods before me - you shall not make for yourselves an idol Exodus 20:3-4. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this. Ps 37:5. You know you’ve been going through all this for a reason - sometimes we try to fix the problem ourselves and end up making it worse. I know there are things we can do - Im not saying don’t do anything at all but Please Trust him - he’s got this 😍

Went through it when we sold our house last year. It takes lots of patients. We would get 7-10 visits per week and nothing was wrong with the house. Our realtor told us we just needed to find the one that loved our house. Took 6 months of chaos and it was sold. Taught us so much patients amongst ourselves and the process. I had the statue in my front yard and did it really help 🤔 no clue but don't give up guys it'll be over soon and you'll look at this as a growing experience!

You both are growing so much through this whole process. It’s a wonderful journey. Getting out of debt has changed me so much. I think about every single thing I buy now. Definitely not impulse buying anymore. I’m more grateful, humble and just overall feel good. Also my husband and I buried st Joseph because we were sooo upset we were trying to sell our house for 4 years, 4 freakin years. So we buried the statue and I prayed a family would come and love the home and take care of it and within a month we finally sold our house. I don’t know everyone has their own opinions on it.

It took us nearly 3 years to sell our house... dozens of viewings, tons of work to keep the house looking wonderful and the grounds in tip top condition. Cold drinks on hot days and hot drinks on cold days for viewers... then out of the blue a viewing on a wet, cloudy day when we were both suffering from bronchitis, no time to rush round, garden under water due to heavy rain for 6 weeks. And they loved it. Miracles do happen and sometimes you can try just too hard .... relax it will come.

We listed our house November before last and went under contract the same week. We were so excited and planning to live in our camper while building a new house. Sale fell through and there we were with a camper and a house and suddenly no interest. We took a break and went back on the market a few months later and the house sold right away. If we had sold when planned we would have spent a very long cold winter in a camper, unable to break ground because it was too wet. As it was we moved into our camper in May and have been able to live on location while watching our house go up. God's timing was the right timing. Praying your house sells soon but that it's the right time. Say a prayer for for us that our house is finished soon as I'm ready to be out of this camper 😉

I’m not religious but studies have shown that prayer works as well as chance. 50/50. I wouldn’t bury a saint in the back yard. As my real estate agent said- every house will sell for the right price. It’s just a matter of timing and pricing. Best of luck.

Praying for your sweet family. I had a house that just would not sell. I buried St Joseph and nothing. I finally ran some numbers and realized I could cut my losses and sold to Opendoor.com. I made just enough to get myself to my next step in life. I have no regrets selling it to them for a little less than had I waited months and months for the right buyer.
