No true, it's no where near P5K for private school, more like P12K and that was YEARS ago. Then you'll have to buy uniforms, books, school supplies, etc. I say you're looking at P20K monthly. My Asawa is Filipina obviously, I trust her Word and Knowledge on that issue.

The private schools we looked at in Bataan are between 45,000 and 65,000 per year which averages out around 5,000 per month over 12 months. This is based on the enrollment information on the school websites. Yes this does not include books, lunch ,and uniforms. I am speaking about tuition only which is by far the biggest expense. My wife is born and raised in Bataan so I consider her an expert as well. Any questions head to your preferred internet search engine...

In the Phil, the public school teachers salary is bigger than private school teachers. Opposite to what you've said. The public school teachers are all board passers and have license compare to private school teacher...some private sch. teachers are not board passers.. Public schools have limited only in resources but are resourceful they can handle that..computer is not a problem now bec.all students have a smart phone or android ones. Public school teachers got more experiences than... And the most intelligent student usually comes from a public school. Thank you

Not also about schools but also depends on how we as parents early train our kids to have good study habits. Values starts from home . All through out from elementary to college I was in a public school and in a state college in college also a government subsidized institution. If your good enough you can get scholarships abroad for masteral and doctorate degrees. All of us having study grants before came from public schools . Working hard and resilient and in the end landing great jobs in the corporate world in US and Europe.

Our education system in the Philippines is good, have my primary in the public schools, secondary in private.I went ot Far Easten University to pre med,but dropped it cuz we are big families and medicine is very expensive,so I continued to BSN.Soon I will retire here in Norway as nurse. I`ve watched many vloggers in the Philippines now and they talking many from India,S.Korea, African countries, some Britons, and French citizens are studying medicines, nursning, dentistry, and other courses. Those Filipinos working abroad are products of both public and private schools, but if you have the capacity to send your son in private its up to you.

Hello Scott Cecile & Liam! I totally agree with you on the traditional respect and reverence towards the elderly. Mutual respect, politeness, manners are much in decline here in the States! Asian culture is basic, traditional, real and for the most part well practiced somewhat here in the States, but more so in Asian countries. Interesting and enjoyable discussion! You're right about the current domestic climate in the States. Emergence of Marxist, Socialist and Communist ideology among the "Hollywood" community in the '50s and the Kool Aid drinking "social Justice" militant warrior radical activists in the '60s whom later slipped through the cracks and entered the academia field where they have been able to mold, cultivate and laundered the minds of the millennial and Gen Z generations. I am a first-generation Chinese American male approaching the age of 75 years, married a gal from Hong Kong, raised 3 adult boys and 1 adult daughter, whom all have college degrees and working on their individual careers and contributing to society. My father and uncle were rounded up and interned alongside Japanese American citizens after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, vetted, released after 6 weeks, enlisted and fought in WWII in the European theater. My twin brother and I were drafted in May 1970, he going to Vietnam and I going to Germany. We were raised to appreciate the freedom and opportunities available in this country and did not hesitate when asked for our service. Have always admired the Filipino people for their steadfast nationalistic loyalty/patriotism and sacrifice in their native and adoptive countries. Sent my 16-year-old daughter to the Philippines for one summer in 1999 with Filipino family friends, along with my credit card, of course. She had a wonderful time; first time on a plane and traveling outside California. Came back with many cherished, unforgettable memories. Everyone be safe, happy & healthy!

So are you saying that there is something wrong with social justice? Something wrong with people wanting to be treated equal? If so, did you speak out against the "stop Asian hate" movement that ignited after a politician labeled Covid as the China-virus? Just so you know... Capitalism is SOCIALISM for the wealthy.... while they get regular people like us to fight over their right to be in control.

I know nothing I am currently sending a child through private school in the Philippines. I have never been to the Philippines but have business ties there. My caution Philippines are making new rules and these rules are interpretation rules on the side of phillipines. Corruption is still very real. These rules could be a issue.

Tough decision to make about kids...my wife taught in both private and public in Phils for 12 years, and now in the US public schools for 3 years. Our daughter attended a top Phil private school for 4 years and US public for 3. I lived in the Philippines full time for 8 years and experienced it all. Its not an easy life financially here in the US, but we know 100% that its the best place for our daughter to grow up. Its not all sunshine and rainbows there in the Philippines...and much easier with a boy...good luck to ya

Greetings Scott and Cecile from Surrey British Columbia. You make some good points as to why you'd want your son raised in the Philippines. I don't know about the US but my step son finished college in Manila and for the first year or so ended up working in a factory in Canada, but decided to get a grant and go to a University here for a couple of years so he could end up doing something along the lines he had planned during his college years on the Philippines. The education system over there is good, but a lot of people (at least those that come to Canada) have to upgrade the education once landing here. As for Merlyn and me we are back here until the end of October and I miss our home in San Fernando more than I can say. I know you must all feel the same.

Keep your kid busy in sports and Martial arts . he will definitely stay away from vice when he grows up .. he will grow up learning to view things clearly from discipline as to what is wrong from what is right .. besides the family influences and religion.

This will be one of your best decision in life my friends raising your child the Philippines with good cultures and good some good filipino values. The culture of RESPECT to the common people, respect to elders within the family and to others, respect to parents since their childhood until they got olders. Support to one another within the family being so strong family bond. We pity that lots of lots of elderly people are homeless in America abandoned by their children and families and many are dying. It is very hard to raise your children in the US living in the neighborhoods with lots of gangs, druggiess, petty crimes being committed by many youngsters.

Liam has experienced America became U.S citizen with his mother that a big deal congratulations. My wife and her college bound daughter are back in Philippines for education the biggest reason i will follow after first of yr i trying to tie up lose ends. the daughter did graduate from american high school . She will go to university a fraction of $17,000 in states. Nether wanted to wait tell we were married 3 years just to apply for U.S citizenship so higher education Philippines is the only way to go it really the only option on a fixed income. I'm retired should have move over there 2020 but coved screwed that up.

Why Philippines. Why not? In life there will be upsides and downsides to wherever you go in life. Just know which are important to you and your family that are more a priority and hold dear more. Then your decision becomes clear as mud. Lol

Seems like a good choice you are making. I have no kids and honestly am glad I did not. Raising a kid in today's culture has got to be super stressful, worrying about all the things you mentioned in your video. The violence, drugs, guns, wokeism, and lack of cultural immersion are so disheartening. Also, Americans tend to think that American schools are so superior to other countries. The reality is that our schools consistently rank lower in mathematics and science as compared to other countries. I know from the videos I have watched that Filipinos place a high value on education. As you said, the respect for elders and the closeness of family are big pluses. Really enjoy your channel and I wish you guys the best when you move to the Philippines!
