Costco kind of gets some cringe fans, but I really appreciate the upfront no-secrets nature of the business at least, and it's obviously focused on bigger families. -buy bulk, save -literally a warehouse -yearly fee keeps customers regular so bulk food doesn't go to waste due to inconsistent buyers, also gauges customer count regularly and accurately Basically, if you're an extremely consistent consumer who doesn't value variety much, it serves a need and helps manage costs It would be hard to have a large family if they didn't exist in some areas

I worked at wireless advocates, the cell phone kiosk in Costco for about 5 years..and holy crap, yeah. memberships help in some ways but it leads to some of the most INSUFFERABLE customer service nightmares of people demanding you return a phone after a year even though it's 3 months..and their carrier holds the contract so it makes no difference. You get some of the doucheiest people.
