@@eyez587 Maybe for some shots. The angles and locations the camera are in would be too sketchy for a drone to hover in. Not to mention the variety of focal lengths in many of the shots and the depth of field is far to shallow to be a drone. Perhaps the more open shots are the drone. Otherwise, my bet is that he really did have to set up the tripod shots and go back to get afterwards. Xander is a man after Les Stroud.

Apparently reading the scroll at the beginning wasn't enough for the beavers... they needed a sacrifice, you falling in was it. The ending with the drone shots, really showed how small we are in the big picture of those beautiful lakes. Thanks for the video!

These style of videos are everywhere on KZbin and carving out a proper niche is quite a challenge. I think adding a comedic factor to these trips have made them truly unique and joy to watch.

Also did this route this summer and only saw one or two people at the launch. The trails were better maintained than we had expected. Those log jams really boggle the mind for how many logs get stuck there. Great job at capturing the northern lights. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing! We loved the lakes, the rivers, the log jams the moose the beaver, the carcass the starry sky shots, the northern light shots, the tent, bonfires the cooking and eating the catching fish the beautiful scenery... everything... it was epic! The length was perfect for us too... we like the videos to be between 40 minutes to an hour or so. This one went really fast because we loved watching you! You are so fun to watch... we're just old people and wish we could do the things you do and go the places you go; but we're stuck here so watching you do all those crazy things gives us a lot of entertainment! Thank you!

Watched several times; seemed like different loop from Jon’s but both very enjoyable. I like your serious perspective as much as your humor. Fishing underwater videos getting much much better, and the auroras outstanding. Don’t occur this far south in Oregon very often. Thank you for all the effort involved, hope patches still has many miles/kilometers to go. Deadlifts mandatory for those portages!

It's super interesting to me when you highlight the sorta existential aspect of these trips and these videos. There's something about being isolated in that nature that points out how vulnerable we are as individuals. Separated from civilization we aren't much of anything, the strength of humans really comes from that collective our ability to do things in numbers but along the way we lose that perspective of how much smaller we are on the grander scale. Really gets the mind moving especially with your eye for cinematography.
