So I don't ever usually comment on yt videos, but I'm making the leap because I've always wanted to thank you for all the good content you've given us! I've been watching you for years (since Saitama) and in essence you two have such a unique perspective... so much different than anything I'm used to, it is always so fascinating to watch your adventures. One thing I'm thankful for is that you decided to stay in Japan. I know it's a little weird to wish something like that on someone you don't know. But all your Japan content is entirely refreshing and has always been my favorite (especially the food stuff!). I think I caught some pics from your insta with you both looking at some building construction... not sure if that had anything to do with the new place, but I'm super excited to see where you move next.

I might have complained about that here before, but we've been living in 43 sqm (465 sq ft) for 25 years (and we'll be moving into a house soon, too)! The saving grace of our flat are 3 metre high ceilings plus the fact that my husband is gone for most of the day ...

I used to drive a minivan on my work passing through Kumagaya over three years ago to go to Fukaya, Honjo and Chichibu. Recently, I sometimes drive a truck on the 27:32 expressway and the local road under it crossing Azumabashi or Kototoibashi to visit some customers in Asakusa, Nihonbashi, Ginza and Shibaura area. I am looking forward to your new adventures based on your new place.

On the bright side, it doesn't take that long to clean up this apartment and because of its size, you're forced to limit the amount of things you can put in it. Thus, making it easier when it's time to move out.

I've watched more than a few of the lives and can take a guess as to what sort of structure you're gonna move into, but I honestly really like the apartment. Of course I'm pretty much eternally single so it'd be perfect for me, but I can definitely see how it's not the best for both of you working from home. Thanks, I always love your apartment videos!

I would be interested in a video of the moving process, especially as you have so much stuff to transport. I've already learned so much about living in Japan from you two.
@kydeanderic3 жыл бұрын
We aren't sure how we will move this time, historically we just rent a van and move things on our own, which isn't the way japanese people usually move. If you search japanese moving on Rachel & Jun's channel they have a pretty good video showing how the usual process is, but it's not cheap.

I like how the garbage/recycling room is so organized. Also I never saw a toilet sink combo like that. I would guess the purpose of it is to save water since you can wash your hands with the water that will then fill up the toilet.

You do not want to develop neck/back issues. Trust me on that.

You know, in the videos showing you guys living in this apartment, to me it appeared much larger than it really was. Fisheye lens effect. This is like the "ha ha we fooled ya" reveal. Anyway, congrats on your new home and I really hope the floors are tatami . I just see tatami and they look like my feet would love the feel, and comfort they seem to ooze. Also, I've seen videos where people are surprise that the tatami have an aroma that is is very sweet. However, you do have to cough up the dough for that, I believe. Looking forward to your new place. Bye for now.
@kydeanderic3 жыл бұрын
Haha we looked for a place specifically without tatami. I agree it's lovely when it's nice, but it's more trouble to take care of and worry about damaging than we are interested in dealing with while living in a place. -E

From a fellow tall Eric, I totally get "cramped" spaces as a pet peeve, and I'm 3" shorter. You get so used to folding yourself up to fit. I've a buddy who is 6'-8" and he habitually ducks when walking through doors, even ones that are tall enough. It is just an unconscious habit and a tiny bit funny to see.
