Get your vet is prescribe some anti anxiety drugs for the kitties, they won’t mind a thing. Took my cat from uk to USA in cabin with me and she was absolutely fine

My partner and I had to leave Sweden (where we had been living for 3 years) in 24 hours back in summer 2020 after a job fell through and our visas were expiring. I -just- moved from California to the UK with my two cats. The couple pieces of advice I received that really helped out were: (1) have your cats in harnesses and, when going through TSA, leashes so that they can't run away in the airport and get lost, and (2) keep a couple of squeezy treats on you for right after the flight as it helps them re-hydrate. The thing no one prepared me for was how much my cats would freak out as the plane was taking off. They were howling like crazy and scraping the inside of their carriers as though they were about to die, probably because they thought they were. I felt TERRIBLE, but within 30 minutes they had calmed down and mostly just slept the rest of the flight. Good luck!! You can do this! :)

I literally JUST moved from London back to America! It’s definitely a hard move bc you get so stuck in your routines and you can start to question your decisions! ALSO when it comes to moving to london with pets I have heard that there is a cruise you can take where you can bring as much luggage as you want (including pets!) and it’ll take you from the east coast directly to the UK and 90% of the cruisers who take it are just moving across the atlantic! That being said, the cruise does take about two weeks so you have to have the time (the person that I know that did it was actually doing it for their daughter who was moving to amsterdam). Anyways! Props to you both and sending all my best wishes! I moved abroad last year for a short-term program and had months to prepare, and I still felt overwhelmed. There’s so much to think about and do. Doesn’t help that I have executive functioning issues, but either way, it’s stressful for anyone. And funnily enough, this was years ago and a separate time, but literally days before leaving to study abroad, I started having vertigo too and was running around to doctor’s appointments because I had never experienced it before haha. It’s good that you have a home base in the U.S. and can stay with Will’s parents - that helps a lot. Good luck with the move, and I hope you get settled in and find your joys in London slowly but surely. ❤️

My husband and I just moved across the country. It was 18 hours in a sedan with our 2 cats and 2 small dogs and it was incredibly exhausting and stressful but they all got over it so fast after getting in the new place. This place must just have good vibes to them, because of all the times I moved with the 2 pets I've moved with before this was the quickest they felt at home. My older cat tends to have a lot of anxiety in new places but she was exploring the whole place on the first day. I hope your kitties feel quickly at home in London and I wish you, Will, and the kitties all the good luck. I hope they bounce back as quickly as mine did and that everyone is safe throughout the entire process.

i know it depends on the temperament of the animals, but i recently flew internationally with my partner, cat and dog. as long as you get the proper paperwork and get the pets some anxiety meds, it really should be ok! the kitties love you and want to be with you through it all even when it’s a bit uncomfy ❤❤ good luck and you got this!

Funny enough I just moved to london for school! My biggest tip for clothes is paying for extra baggage and getting some sturdy bags to hold your things. Overall it cost less than shipping, and I was able to keep track of everything in one place. And also.... I recommend one entire suitcase for shoes

When I moved to London I bought a shipping crate from uShip. It was $600 to fill whatever fits in an entire bedroom into the crate. Highly recommend.

Moved from Montreal to Vienna with 1 cat (alone), had to take 2 flights. It was stressfull but I took zero cabin luggage, only my cat in a backpack(for cats) and a handbag. He was pushing his head a little bit but if you put your hand and stuff they will be calm, I also gave him a little "chill pill" before the flight. Had all the paperwork to delcare a cat, when I arrived in vienna I left the airport through the "nothing to declare" line and accidentaly smuggled my cat to europe. oh well. Not sure if it was the move or something else but my cat is waaay more sociable now, he changed personality a lot. But yeah you won't forget this, I often remind myself that I moved on my own with a freaking cat on a 6h then 2h flights. You basically can do anything

Aww I feel the stress with the kitties :( I just recently moved (drove) from Ireland to Poland with 2 senior cats and my 15 year old senior dog! ( that's like 24h of driving + ferry) I know planes are different but I would say organisation is KEY Our biggest mistake was brining too much shit with us in the car instead of shipping more stuff and we had a lot of stress looking for stuff, at one point we were parked at a mcdonalds in wales at like 3am for 45 mins, in the rain looking for syringes to give one of our cats more anxiety meds because she was freaking out So my biggest advice is, less is more. Ship all your stuff like literally bring the bare minimum you need so that you can move through the airport with ease and organise yourself SO WELL so that you have all the kitty stuff easily accessible. Good luck!!! it's going to be a tough day or 2 for both of you but you will be fine!! My pets did a lot better than I would have expected them to, you just have to give yourself time and space with travelling so that you don't feel overwhelmed

Australia has extremely tight biosecurity laws! Because we're an island, we don't have a lot of animal diseases that most of the world has. And introducing them could be very bad for agriculture and the native environment. Can't even take an orange between states 😂

Also side note, I work in veterinary medicine. So, definitely talk to your vet about anxiety meds (Gabapentin) for the kitties. It helps my babes for car travel because it's a mild sedative medication.
