Yeah, Dustin has a really bad take here. Of course with hindsight you could say "Sony wishes they should have charged more" (not exact quote but close enough) but could it be the reason they sold so many to begin with was because it was $40 which led many more people to take a chance on it? I'm sure if it came out at $60-$70 and flopped he would have complained about it being priced too high and only if it had been a more budget title it might have done better.

Hey Dustin, if you read this, congrats to you and your wife on your first child! My wife and I welcomed our first baby back in December and have to say being a dad is so much fun and unlike anything you've ever experienced in life! I know Colin offered you 3 months off and it may seem like too much time. I got 3 months paid time off too and before my daughter was born I thought I would be able to get a lot of stuff done during that time. Speaking from very recent experience, having a baby is way more of an adjustment than I thought (especially with my wife's recovery and the baby's erratic sleep schedule). I ended up staying up with the baby from about 8 PM- 4 AM for the first 2 months just so my wife could sleep. Feeding and changing diapers every 3-4 hours all day was a lot so just saying that you should take up Colin on his 3 months of paid leave offer 😊 Trust me, you won't be bored at all. I used the time at night to play games and clear out my backlog. Plus, hanging out with my daughter without the stress of work was so much fun. To the topic of MTX in Dragon's Dogma: Firstly the reviewers had the information about the MTX, some just didn't read through what they got. The fast travel need two objects, and only one of the two can be brought. Also you can't buy more than one of that object with real money.

Trust. Dustin is not going to be bored. I became a dad in December 2023 and there is no time for boredom. When you do get time, it is usually in a trade off with sleeping. Honestly, if my employer offered me 3 months I would have snapped it up. In the UK generally most men get 2 weeks. I got 4 weeks and it still felt like it was over in a flash. The blessing for Dustin is that his job is his favourite hobby, but it is going to be interesting to see how his gaming changes and how that will affect his point of view on the show, because it definitely will. From my perspective it's a great thing because Dustin's life will be a little bit like my own in some respect, so I can identify with his gamer dad experiences. I'm so excited for the day that my little boy can hop in the gunner seat of a warthog and I share with him my love of Halo. I bet Dustin has that game he can't wait to play with his son. 2:25:00 probably one of the most clown-tier write-ins on the show. DD2 was my most anticipated game of the year but the degree to which do many legitimate problems with the game, from the lack of innovation over the first game to the lower number of monsters, the paltry enemy and encounter variety, the horrible performance even on my 4090 strix and 13900k and, yes, the boundary-testing microtransactions, have all been handwaved by a crowd of hypebeast "current thing" enthusiasts, who all always want to be part of the latest celebratory cultural consumer moment, and who were all desperate to anoint this game as this year's successor to Elden Ring and BG3, has been as abysmal and pathetic as it has been utterly lacking in self-awareness. I literally watched one of my favorite content creators, Laurence Sonntag, absolutely lose his mind and make an absolute clown out of himself over this game, and it was borderline disheartening after having followed his analysis as a serious person. Other clowns include that fighting cowboy guy and many souls streamers who have all posited this ridiculous assertion that practically all the complaints against the game are just born of a blind hate mob, an assertion that is as childish and ignorant as it is parasocial and arrogant. Absolutely pathetic display of the fact that the real issue with games isn't blind and bad faith negativity, but rather blind, cultish positivity.

Say what you want about GameStop, but the last times I’ve been interested in selling/trading in old consoles GameStop is easier to deal with and often gives me a good amount of money for trading in. I recently traded in my Xbox series x for $350 and sure I could probably have sold that for closer to $400-450 selling it on my own, but this way I don’t have to deal with the Facebook marketplace moms asking if I’ll take $100 or something crazy. I traded it in for store credit and used all of the store credit on psn cards which I’m surprised they let me do

Chris is such a goofy bastard. That shit eating grin right before Colin noticed had me rolling.

2:50:51 - gamestop is particularly in trouble because they refused to evolve as the market evolved. It was clear that digital was coming. Gamestop should have shifted to a game store that sells board games and gaming merchandise besides videogames. The funco figures were the wrong move

Does this mean Dustin has been promoted to "father"? And more importantly is Colin demoted? Can there be 2 fathers in the same space?

Colin goes to grandfather now.

I would say even Persona 5 made a huge splash, and turned gamers who otherwise wouldn't have, onto JRPG's

I remember on DA Origins spending many happy hours just organising my party and how they'd react to certain things. eg, who would attack a magic users and ignore all others.

Taking about Disney’s Star Wars, I think you would love Andor, Colin. It is a risky show to do for sure.
@TheHOOfan19 ай бұрын
He said in the Marvel section that he likely would, but he's also said he doesn't want anything to do with the Star Wars IP anymore.
@mattsanders22079 ай бұрын
@@TheHOOfan1 I’m saying Andor is different from any other Star Wars film or show. He might like it for the dialogue or cinematography. Andor is the best written Star Wars thing of the past 40 years.
@TheHOOfan19 ай бұрын
@@mattsanders2207 Doesn't matter. It's in the Star Wars Universe, so Colin doesn't want anything to do with it. That's the way Colin thinks. I'm sure he would like Jedi: Fallen Order too, but he's said, he is done with anything that has anything to do with Star Wars.

Whats up with the audio on this episode? Explicitly hearing everyone's inhale on the mic is so distracting. Lol

I cannot wait for what Shinji Mikami does next! He's made 3 of my top 10 games and others I love as well. Feel like he should be considered as great as Kojima or Ken Levine. Chris, it is wild you have not played Bioshock 2, I never got the hate. Also, Dustin, congrats! And be glad you have an employer who will give you paternity leave. My CEO said "Why would I give any paternity leave? I don't want to finance your free golf trips....." Being a parent is probably the most important thing in your life if you choose to do it. Work pales in comparison. Enjoy it!

I would recommend trying the Stellar blade demo. I played most of it, and the game isn't for me personally. It definitely has a Devil May Cry / Bayonetta thing going on. As far as world traversal, interactions etc most of that felt kind of janky. And I didn't care for the way they did the combat overall, I have a feeling Colin won't like the combat.
@Garoth45829 ай бұрын
I actually was surprised by the game. I enjoyed it but I have enough on my plate to hold off until it's on sale. I think you are right about Colin not liking it though. He talks like he enjoys these types of games but I've never seen him get into 3d ninja Gaiden, dmc, or GoW.

@gregoryjoslin3173 I absolutely love God of War 2018 and Ragnarok. But games like this just don't click for me, I just didn't find it fun. There's no rhyme or reason generally as to whether someone will like a game or not. Just have to play it for yourself and find out.
@Garoth45829 ай бұрын
@bdre5555 Well, with GoW I meant the originals. That's cool it's not for you dude. There are enough great games for us all to find something.

I didn't really like it either. I'm a huge fan of action adventure games and souls games but it just felt weird and the world was bland imo.

People often forget the case with Shadow of War, a single-player game where the mtx were horrendous and made the game grindy towards the end, to the point where they had to remove them and balance the end-game.

There’s been a pretty good argument that KZbin Premium is actually bad for KZbin creators. If you really want to support the creators you should like and subscribe to increase their potential views with new viewers. It’s also probably a better use of your money to watch the ads or atleast until you can skip them to add to that creator’s participation and support them monetarily with subscriptions or merch purchases.
