I bought a few off them when I saw the price. It said it was issued, too, but it looked brand new. The best thing I've bought from them, however, was the 80s era German Polizei leather jacket. I've wanted one of those for years, but every site I searched only had reproductions. Then Americana Pipedream got some in for only $130, so I got that too. Funny thing, it had some clear bag in the sleeve pocket, which had a 🚫 symbol on it. I have no idea what it is... but I just put it back in the pocket. Plus, the zipper tab was missing and replaced with a paperclip by some cop like 30-40 years ago, which I'm also never going to fix. It gives the jacket some character

@@anonymousaccordionist3326 Longevity and versatility. That style of ring, stitching and clasps will last a very long time. The harness not only ensures your pack will stay on, but ensures you don't fatigue as quickly from your pack slinging around. Think of the straps as extra strips of muscle on your body
@nickkennedy90344 ай бұрын
@@anonymousaccordionist3326 redistribute the weight so you can carry heavier gear more comfortably. The Americans and British went with frame backpacks instead which have proven to be better if more expensive. You gotta remember that East Germany had PKM, AKM, SVD, and RPK and gear for that gets awkward and heavy. There's also the side benefit of a modular backpack system where you can pick and choose how many bags to put on your rig. Is it ideal today? Not really, there are better options, but other East German kit is pretty nice.

I bought one a few months ago and to be noted, YOU CAN wear withouth the belt that may not be fashionable with every style. You only have to adjust the front straps a bit tighther so the bag doesn't hang as loose. And you will have to adjust the straps to your exact fit or else those metal clips will start to hurt your back. It also fits more things that it seems, and the straps on the sides make it perfect to carry jackets and bottles and everything that can be hanged. Excuse my poor english.
