That's not going to fit. Those were stretched Lotus cars. There simply isn't room for the battery pack and I doubt the motor would fit since those cars are not as wide as the Model S.

Tesla needs another manufacturer endorsed lane like Mustangs have Saleen, Rousch and other custom shops. This may come later once the market is saturated with plain vanilla electric cars.

Alex Fiehl yeah. I started to add that but opted to keep my reply short. There were about 200 public invitations sent to gauge interest but only 4-5 people do the $80 swap. This was when everyone got free supercharging. There really wasn’t a demand for it and the ZEV credit loophole was closed so it made no sense to move forward with it.

I'm not too excited about a Tesla motor swap, I was hoping to see a true mod like you found a higher rateds industrial motor that could swap right in. I am excited to see your other electrifying vehicles, as that is the swap to do. The days of swapping a straight 6 for a V8 are limited, but creating an EV out of a VW Karmann Ghia is cool.

Instead of doing the swap in a perfectly working 75D he could have done it on another flood damaged Tesla. A 75D with Supercharger is still worth more than a P100D without Supercharger.

Rich, You might consider using the battery removed from the car and applying it to a house as a power source in the event of a power failure instead of a power wall 2. I'm thinking it should power the house for several days and even better if the house has a Tesla solar roof. Just thinking out loud. Food for thought.

It would kill your efficiency bc the car uses the front motor, which is way more efficient, when cruising. Also I don’t think the battery can output that much power because the power output is controlled by the software

I think the acceleration is pretty much traction limited, because it stops from 60-0 only one tenth of a second quicker

Very cool. I have a 75d. Would love to do this one day. Could only imagine the slew of things you’d have to change but why stop there. I wonder can you fit a plaid battery and drive train. Know the battery and connectors are completely different but can they be transferred. That would be insane if it possible!!
