My Brothers yall brought back so many memories catching these sheepshead. When I was in college I would go catch some and sell to the older locals in the neighborhood they loved those things. I had to sell them because that's how I made my money I never called home for money or asked anyone to do anything for me I always worked for it. But I loved this video brought back some good memories from where I was then to where I'm at in life now. GOD BLESS

I was fishing once with my brother and there was a bunch of guys fishing also. The guy next to us had hooked something and started to hoot and holler while he put up an epic battle to land his catch which turned out to be an eyeglass case with the glasses.

Get a longer rod than a ice fishing rod. We use 5 to 6' with 10 lb. braid and 10 lb mono leader. Can' throw a bait very far with those short little rods. The rod actions we use are medium/light ,

From an old sheepshead fisherman.....bring you a 1x4 board and scrape along the pylons, knocking off barnacles, chumming the water. flip your bait down current and hold on.

Pretty work! Here in Manteo, NC, we fish for sheepies until the water temp starts dropping below 68. What was your water temp? What temperature have you found the Sheepshead bite to slowdown or stop? Just a FYI, around here we call puppy drum any redfish that is slot or smaller, and black drum, we just call… black drum😂 Tight lines, but not too tight!

Thanks man. Water temp that day was around 69. Around here it gets better when the water temp drops. I’ve had banger days with 57 degree water temps!

Hey how do you connect your leader to your braid i like using small swivel eyes?
@CaptCollier2 жыл бұрын
I use to use the uni to uni knot. But now FG knot is all I use, I would highly suggest learning that knot, it’s really slim and strong. And don’t have to worry about swivels ruining your guides if you happen to reel up to far.
