@@Chris-vk2zw No, it's in the deleted scenes on the DVD, as part of a long-winded explanation by Old Rose of everything she did and why. In my opinion, if those.lines had been included in the theatrical cut, it would have destroyed the movie. Sometimes less really is more. But for those who want to see them, or who want a more explicit, didactic account of Rose's motives, they are there for you to enjoy.

Same withe the Gentleman sitting in a seat in the main promenade watching the water rushing in, "dressed in his best and ready to go down" he was benjamin Guggenheim of the Guggenheim Mining Magnate Family (think guggenheim museum) and John Jacob Astor IV, who was the man holding onto the railing as the water crashes through the main staircase glass ceiling, 2 of the richest men in the world went down, although in real life Guggenhiem wasnt sitting and drinking , he was helping the officers fill the boats with women and children

Rose dies in her sleep at the end and returns to the Titanic to be with Jack. The ship sank April 15, 1912. Not 1914. There is an alternate scene in the end where Rose shows the necklace to the captain instead of hiding it from him and tossing it into the ocean.

That scene idea came from Lewis Abernathy, who played Brock's sidekick. He was good friends with Cameron and Paxton. He was a Titanic buff who wanted to play a passenger, but he was too tall. Cameron promised him a part anyway. Lewis and Gloria Stewart became drinking buddies. He said that, at the premiere, the film broke halfway through the film. Cameron was livid, but the attendees demanded to see the movie from the beginning again in its entirety. Cameron and Lewis were worried, but not a single person left. Remember, they all thought the movie would get trashed.

I Know everyone's basically seen the Titanic but I wish they edited longer.... it's a 3 hr movie and when reactors edit it down to 29 to 39 minutes it kinda takes something out of the reaction cause your going through the scenes so fast, and cutting out scenes that don't make scence for the next scene you show. Instead maybe do 50 to an hour OR make it a two parts ( how we 90s kids watched it on the VHS Tapes 😂 No Shade.. I've seen Titanic pleanty of times B4 but i love seeing Reactors react to moving of my childhood OR just movies i love and seeing their reactions and hearing their thoughts on it!! I do rly love your channel.. just a thought.☺😅

Yep, guys the Titanic footage at the start is the REAL DEAL.., James Cameron actually went there with his Camera team :) - Its not CGI or modelling - Millvina Dean, the last survivor of the Titanic died on May 31, 2009 at the age of 97 at a nursing home near Southampton, England.

This 62-year old manly man had no problem with getting emotional while watching Titanic. It's a GREAT film. The love affair between Jack and Rose was great. The story was great. The depictions of the tragedy were heart-crushing. Gloria Stuart nearly stole the film as the elderly Rose Dawson Calvert. Two huge 👍👍 from me.

Whenever you see both submersibles, those are shots of models. But when you see one submersible, youre seeing real footage of the Titanic. Look closely. Those are some of the most amazing model effects ever put on film.

Titanic is a masterpiece. I was 11 when it came out and it was a huge phenomenon. I have never experienced so many emotions in a movie theater with any other movie in my life and I'm 36 now. A film that successfully blends elements of historical accuracy, romance, and spectacular visuals, which can indeed make for a compelling and unforgettable cinematic experience.

If they had not turned, the ship would have plowed right into the iceberg head-on and sustained much worse initial damage and injuries, but given the nature of Titanic's bulkhead design it would have remained afloat and limped to port. That said, a lot changed afterwards in ship design, construction, materials engineering, safety/resuce procedures, etc that in the long run could have cost more lives over time had Titanic not gone down.

Almost every depiction of the Titanic sinking I've seen includes a little speck of white at the very top as it goes down. That speck of white is the man you see in kitchen whites taking a sip from a flask. He's a real person, remembered in Titanic lore as "the Cookie," and was the last person to go down on the Titanic and survive. When he realized the ship was sinking, he figured as a member of the crew he was doomed, so he just got drunk and did exactly what Jack and Rose do in the movie -- climbed up to the top as the ship tilted. As a result, the shock of the cold water wasn't as severe, and as a strong, fit, relatively young man, he surived.

I’d like to add/ correct you on something’s. When he heard about the sinking, he passed out everything he had in stock, then find every piece of furniture possible to toss overboard as life preservers. Also he didn’t take a sip from his flask, he chugged a bottle of whiskey and was in the water till the rescue ship came with his only evidence were a couple of frost bitten toes due to the amount of alcohol in his system keeping his internal body temperature significantly high (according to him his head didn’t even get wet but I doubt that part)

Sad fact: there actually was another ship that saw the flares from titanic but mistook them as fireworks or something less serious and never tried to wake their radio officer. At those times the radio didn't have to be manned 24/7. The Captain of that ship was vilified by both the Americans and the British and despite no formal charges being filed his life and career were destroyed by what was perceived as negligence and unprofessionalism on his part.

Wallace Hartley was the real band leader's name. He once stated that if he were ever on a sinking ship, he would play Nearer Thy God to Thee (the British Methodist version). The band also played a lot of British patriotic music as the ship was sinking. It was supposed to be more cheerful.

Rose (as an older lady) died on the search crew ship on that night and in the end scene that´s been shown here where she joins the whole crew and passengers that went down back in 1912. She took the chance to be in the same place for one last time, where back then she said goodbye to Jack just to finally reunite with him in the other side.

That is a myth. When you're out in the cold, alcohol is the worst thing you could ever drink. Alcohol dilates the blood vessels in your skin, which allows more blood to flow. It gives you the feeling of warmth, but it actually makes your body lose heat faster. Countless people have died from hypothermia because they went out in extreme cold while drunk.

I saw Titanic 15 times when it first came out. I cried like a baby every time. In fact, i still do. I was part of a huge fanbase that exploded when Titanic won Best Picture and Best Director. We all had to own the incredible soundtrack, which became one of the most successful albums ever produced. Then we all went crazy for the dual VHS copy when it came out. Titanic is right up there with Gone With The Wind and Casablanca as one of the best, most timeless romantic epics ever made.

James Cameron actually learned how to remotely pilot a submersible and then in 1995 he visited the Titanic wreck before he had written the scripts and the footage of that first time dive to the wreck was used in the movie! But it started al with “the abyss” in 1988 also very interesting about a drowned nuclear submarine.

The (main) vocalisation we all hear during the movie is actually titled Hymn To The Sea, and the female vocal artist throughout the film is the Norwegian soprano Sissel Kyrkjebø. Everyone ties Celine to this soundtrack but the only song she actually performs AT ALL is the credit song, My Heart Will Go On, whilst Sissel did all the female vocal work within the soundtrack, and she doesn't get nearly enough respect for her work, it genuinely pisses me off. From her Wiki - Horner had tried 25 or 30 singers before deciding on Sissel. However Celine Dion's vocals were preferred due to James Horner's decision to support Dion's career. In an interview from December 2014, Horner quotes: "When I had completed the Titanic [movie], I had to decide for Celine Dion or Sissel['s] [vocals]. Celine I had known since she was 18, and I had already written three film songs for [her]. But that was before Celine was known and filmmakers and marketing people had not done what they should have done for Celine and [her] songs. So I felt I owed her a Titanic chance, but I could [still] have used Sissel there." For context, at that time Celine already had international fame from winning Eurovsion in 1988, she had 3 globally successful albums with two certified diamond in the US with more than 30 million sales worldwide each, she was also on the Beauty and The Beast soundtrack, the pop version of the song charting in the Top 10 in multiple countries in 1991. But yea, no, 1997 Celine was definitely more unknown than Sissel Kyrkjebø, who had less fame, less awards, less international recognition, and was actually younger than Celine. Sure, James, sure.

I worked as crew member on a Costa cruise ship, there technical and engineering staff wore epaulettes with purple straps on the uniform, once i asked the staff captain what was the meaning of the purple color, he told me that this is a tribute to the technical crew and engineers who were the first victims of the Titanic in the engine room, but theres no universal standard for the colors in cruise ship, each company can adopt diferent meanings of it. On cruise ships each area officers use a color between the golden stripes of the epaulettes, usually is white for hotel department, green for environmental, red for medical and purple for engineering.

Can I make a recommendation? It's a Romantic Chinese drama called You Are My Glory. After 10 years, Jingjing (fl), a famous actress, and Yu Tu (ml), a space engineer, have an unexpected reunion through a mobile game that Jingjing needs to master as a presenter. As for Jingjing, this gives her a flashback memory of the high school day when she had a crush on him 10 years ago. As for Yu Tu, he doesn't expect to see her again as she is now a celebrity who lives in a glorious world and not a girl whom he'd rejected anymore. A mature and healthy relationship that is going to make you smile and be heartwarming; helping each other through the tough times and understanding each other professions make the drama a good comfort watch.

16:00 yes, studies have shown, engineering design has coincided that had they steered straight for the iceberg and hit it head on it would have destroyed only the first compartment, maybe damaging the second in which case Titanic could have limped the rest of the way to New York and arrived a day or 2 late but apart from a couple injuries it would have just been a small fortune to repair the front, but because they tried to turn and like you said the rudder was too small, they couldn't avoid it, so it ripped holes and separated plating all down the side through 5 compartments and as Mr Andrews said, Titanic was designed that she could stay afloat with up to 3 compartments flooded but not the 5 that were by the iceberg, had they gone full reverse immediately and steered straight for it, it would have crushed the front compartment (Bow) which is exactly what happened to The HMS Olympic (Titanic's sister ship) when she ran straight into another ship at speed ( there are pictures on wikipedia of olympics smashed in front)

There's no gash, bro. The iceberg wrecked the rivets that were holding the ship's steel plates together, creating a separation where water could enter.

Compartments would only work as long as the doors are closed in time. If all of the doors were automatic, it would've helped. But only 12 of the 15 vertically closing doors were automatic. The rest of the doors above were horizontally closing manual doors. Impact shock would delay crew response time, giving enough time to flood in.

so i just went to the exhibition museum and learned there was a coal shortage and they save majority of it FOR the titanic to make its maiden voyage 😢 one of the other experiences during the exhibition was u can feel how cold the water was and also sit on seats in an outline of lifeboats and watch a projection of the titanic sinking and what the survivors must of felt seeing that. i just a lot during most of the exhibit

The Titanic actually received multiple warnings about a dense ice field. The Californian specifically said it had to stop because there was just too much ice. Reports say the captain however was busy entertaining the passengers at the time. and the operator decided not too interrupt him and actually responded asking them to stop sending the warnings.

Nope. Californian stopped because they were immediately surrounded by icefield and had no passengers. These were passenger ships which had to keep schedules. According to testimonies from 11 other captains, it was standard practice to maintain speed if the path ahead is clear and only slow down if they actually saw something serious. Titanic hadn't met ice yet. They hit one of the first icebergs in that icefield. As for the warnings, most of the warnings they got didn't have icebergs in their direct path. Either they passed one or wouldn't have met one. Two important warnings regarding the exact icefield Titanic encountered didn't reach the bridge. Marconi apparatus got broken earlier and the fix took time. This resulted in a backlog of messages. Those warnings got mixed up in it. According to Californian's operator's testimony, Titanic's Marconi operator's response wasn't offensive. It was what they talked among themselves, they were colleagues in the Marconi company. Titanic's operator's response was "Shut up Shut up I'm working Cape Race". This was given because the operator tuned to a long distance and the noise of nearby Californian's message was very loud.

Pitch black is right. It was a new moon, so there was no light of the moon. It was described as a million stars. The ocean was so calm that it was considered a sea of glass. This flat-calm scenario is rare. It also made spotting obstacles very difficult because there was no white foam breaking water around this. The Maritime rules at sea were that you don't slow down unless ot is foggy or treacherous. The ship is only to be stopped if an obstacle is spotted, the theory being that with clear conditions, there will be ample time to stop from full speed. The officers were told to take special watch. Captain Smith even took the Southern Transatlantic Route to avoid ice. It's very rare that there would be ice in that path. 1912 was a freak year for ice.

The survivors said that the most terrifying part of watching the Titanic sink was when the lights went out and the silence that ultimately followed. Just imagine that, you sit there in complete darkness and the sound of splashing and screams for help of hundreds of people quiets one by one until there's only silence. I was taking a Mass Media class in college in 1996. We had an adjunct professor from Los Angeles. He was telling us about the making of Titanic and how it was the most expensive movie ever made... and that industry experts were predicting that it would be a total flop. Boy were they wrong! Titanic went on to be the highest-grossing film at that time!

realistically there was also the assumption that if they hit the ice berg head on, her front bow would have been crushed and she could've limped back but the watertight bulkheads did not go high enough and they would eventually would have the same issue. It was design flaw but back them, she was so big, they didn't think anything could sink it. The pier in new york was even completed building when she set sail. it was completed two days before she was suppose to arrive. The other issue: It was DEAD SILENT THAT NIGHT. usually the lookouts look for the white caps of waves that crash against the ice berg to get a warning, but it was dead silent. It wasn't until morning that the survivors realized they were in a huge ice field and the waters were so still.. There was a ship close by but didn't respond they went to bed early. they could see the rockets from a distance and thought they were low level fireworks They used CQD which was old morse code distress call and SOS was still new not really known or used She didn't have enough life boats for everyone The ice berg 80-90% of it was underwater only 10% floating above so no way to tell how big it was It ended up being this perfect bad combination of designing ahead of their time that reality and mother nature caught up. But without this loss, we would not have the safety regulations we have for ships

You should watch a documentary on the Costa Concordia. It’s a cruise ship, didn’t sink but it capsized. There are some really striking similarities to the story of Titanic regarding life boats, arrogance, etc.

It was a long movie because the sinking was actually shown in the real time it took for it to sink. So how long it was in the film from hitting the iceberg to it plunging down was shown in the actual time.

The Carpathia broke laws of physics or something to get to the Titanic survivors in time. Given the distance it was and the speed it could muster, it's a miracle it got there are fast as it did, even if it was too late to save most.

Whats crazy is that if they'd hit the iceberg head on, there would have been loss of life but the ship likely would have stayed afloat long enough for the carpathia to arrive. However its human nature to turn from the big object ahead even if so doing sealed their fate..

The night of April 14th was a cold water mirage, meaning that the iceberg appeared far away than it really as well as providing a sort of masking effect for the iceberg which was why it was far too late to turn clear and combine that with the sheer size of the ship and the speed, it couldn't have avoided the ice at that time

She has a longer scene exactly where Jack and Fabrizio meet during the sinking, he tries to convince her to come with him but she chooses to stay with her parents. This is where she ultimately ends up, but we also know she would have died as well had she gone with Fab.

It had to do with balance and they really were not thinking about how to make it work to begin with, being in a panic. Just the scrambling on was not working ... Jack saved Rose from the beginning of the film to the end of it.

15:56 theoretically yes. It's speculated that ramming the ice head on would flood 3 compartments at worst, but the point is they didn't know that so they tried to avoid the iceberg. Also many passengers would have been injured and they most likely been blamed for this since they wouldn't try avoiding a collision as far as the public opinion is concerned. Like if you drive a truck with precious cargo or a bus full of people you try to avoid ramming head on into a wall, right?

Actually them running straight into the iceberg might have prevented Titanic from sinking. The way she and her sister ships were built made them very sturdy. At the very least, if she had to go down, it would have probably taken less time for her to do so

Love the reaction guys. If you dont mind me saying, not sure if you know already or not but the ship model sinking is all real in a studio and they really did tempature the water to be very cold, enough for them to have to dress very warmly.

I watched this movie in full for the first time since I was a kid and goddamn, it's rough, emotionally speaking. Rest in peace to the 1,496 people who died the night the Titanic sank and to those poor souls who died aboard the submersible exploring the wreck of the Titanic. I'll live vicariously through footage and pictures of Titanic explorations, not a snowball's chance in hell I'd be going down to it in person.

There's a National Geographic special that goes over the notes of a gentleman who was at the trials in England after the ship sank. His notes include a lot of things that were not previously known. It wasn't just a single ice berg, it was an ice berg field, although the Titanic only struck one. The ship didn't stop once it hit the ice but actually sped up. Doing so caused more water to flood into the ship. The bulkheads were closed but then the crew reopened them, I don't remember exactly why, but they never closed them again, so the sealed compartments that could have contained the water were left wide open. Someone took an incorrect reading with a sextant, so the ship's course was incorrect. The ship was actually 25 miles from where they said they were. Even if the closest ship had been aware of the trouble that the Titanic was in, they wouldn't have been able to find the ship because it was so far off course. Also, they didn't have radios back then, but telegraphs and the telegraph workers actually worked for a different company. The Titanic received several warnings about the ice bergs but ignored them in favor of sending and receiving private messages for the passengers. The closest ship shut down their telegraph when the workers' shifts ended, as was policy at the time, and that ship was unable to send or receive any communication until the next morning. Oh, and part of the reason why the ship couldn't avoid the ice berg was because the ship was going a lot faster than it should have been because the owner wanted to arrive in the US early. The situation wasn't as simple as the ship hit an ice berg and sank.

GREAT film. It's incredible accurate in both design and feel. A couple of things - the film gives the impression that the firemen in the boiler rooms would be trapped if they didn't get out before the doors closed. All compartments had vertical ladders or gangways. They could, and did, climb to a higher deck even after the doors were closed. Think about it - if they doors sealed them in, they would have sealed the water in too. Also, I think there is no evidence that anyone was intentionally kept below. Board of Trade regulations required gates between classes had to remain closed during passage. What happened in some cases was gates were left locked by oversight. Also, language barriers made it difficult to properly communicate the situation, or instructions. We do know that some stewards did ferry groups of 3rd class passengers to the boat deck. So, while it is possible that some deaths were due to people not being able to find their way topside, it wasn't as cold-blooded as this film and other sources imply.

The final song the musicians play is the song titled "Nearer, My God, to Thee" which they played it because they knew that everyone on that ship, including themselves, were closer to God (meeting him; in death) than they ever had been. Wallace Hartley, the ship's band leader (the violinist who begins the song in the film), who died when the ship sank along with all other musicians on board, liked the hymn and had wished to have it performed at his funeral, which is likely why he chose that as his last song to perform. "The hymn is well known, among other uses, as the alleged last song the band on RMS Titanic played before the ship sank and was sung by the crew and passengers of the SS Valencia as it sank off the Canadian coast in 1906." As much as I love this movie, there's one thing I don't like. With all the research that went into this movie, James Cameron seems to have fallen for the slanderous myth that Bruce Ismay pressured Captain Smith to go full speed to make headlines. First of all, there's no evidence that suggests the ship was at maximum speed. Second of all, there was absolutely nothing to be gained by arriving ahead of schedule. Think about it, wouldn't arriving sooner than the press expected just mean there would be less publicity? This movie also depicts Ismay as a coward who snuck himself on a lifeboat. That did not happen. The real Ismay helped people to the boats and once he was the only one left on the starboard (or port, I forget which) section, First Officer Murdoch ordered him on the last lifeboat. One thing I also noticed is that if Rose had not jumped back on the ship, Jack likely would have survived, reunited with her on the Carpathia and they would have started a new life together.

all true, what also grinds my gears is the fact that none of the third class passengers were forcibly kept below decks and behind closed gates. There is zero evidence for that plus there were no gates separating classes. The only gates on the ship were separating passenger space from machinery or crew spaces. Like you said Cameron did a tremendous amount of research but he sure let some really damaging stuff slip by.

Ive watched every titanic documentary on like disney+ , and One of the saddest things i remember from one of them was that they a-) actually had the binoculars aboard, but they were locked away in a cupboard and the only person who had the keys to it, at the last minute decided not to go. That wouldve helped them spot the iceberg, however since they didnt its actually been proven by scientists and other people, and theyve stated that if they had just hit the iceberg straight on, the front of the ship was designed to withstand an impact, would it of caused damage? Sure! But not nearly as catastrophic damage as it was. Which wouldve meant even tho they would have been stuck on that iceberg, they wouldve been able to wait for the boat that responded and said they could be there in 4 hrs. Then those people wouldnt of had to die. And that by turning the boat, and thus ripping several long gashes into the side, it unfortunately couldnt withstand that much damage and that much water coming in that fast, it flooded past 5 compartments. Another thing theyve realized is the material the ship was made of, especially the bottom and side that was exposed to the harsh waters of the Atlantic ocean, its below freezing temps and the amount of salt in the water, they say would have caused the bottom and side to break down at a faster rate than normal bc of the material they used when building the ship. Bc of this when it scraped along the bottom part of the iceberg that was under the water, the sharpness of the ice would no doubt cause damage to any ship, but with it being weaked bc of the type of material it was, it was like a knife cutting thru butter. And thats why the damage was so catastrophic so fast and the water intake so extensive

As an amatuer Titanic historian, they would have stayed afloat if they had just rammed the iceberg but they thought they could turn in time. They did almost manage it but we know they didn't as it just grazed and popped the brittle iron rivets holding the iron plates together thus the ship together. They popped out of place or just shattered with the slightest graze by the iceberg. Sonar mapping of Titanic's starboard hull buried in the ocean floor revealed only six thin tears from the iceberg with a total area open to the sea of only one square meter (12 square feet), or less than that of two sidewalk squares. She sank so fast that the crew didn't have time to launch two lifeboats, one was overturned, saved some people who climbed aboard including the younger radio operator Harold Bride and the other was half full of water that some people died in waiting for rescue. Murdoch never shot anyone and he never shot himself. He was a hero who saved the most lives that night by allowing men to board boats on his side of the ship whereas Second Officer Charles Lightoller (who survived) only allowed women and children, denying men and launching boats as small as 12 people when it could hold up to 68 as one boat did on Murdoch's side. First Officer Murdoch was last seen launching the last lifeboat when a wave from the suddenness of water rushing near the bow overtook him around 2:10am. He died a hero, not a murderer. Also, regarding the controversy about Jack fitting on the wooden paneling. He probably could fit as Mythbusters tested this but the buoyancy was severely compromised. They both would have been half submerged and Jack knew this that only one could survive so he made his peace and chose Rose to survive.

There's another issue. Only 12 of the 15 vertical watertight doors on tank top were automatic. The rest above were horizontally closing manual doors. The shock of sudden impact is nothing good. It will delay crew response. That might give more time to flood in.

19:00 they sink now and again there are alot of documentaries on youtube about them even some footage of them sinking normally the ones with footage is because everyone lived and were just sitting on life boats with there phones, the Costa Concordia is a more recent famous one there are a few videos about that there is a full one from when it left to when it was cleaned up and removed from the sea bed

Remember how hypothermia works in water... you have a x% chance of survival of x minutes in x degree water. Jack said earlier that the water was freezing, maybe a few degrees over. So maybe 35 degrees. That would be a 35% chance of surviving 35 minutes in 35 degree water. And that is for adults. Kids and babies would succumb much faster. The terror of the situation is awful but hypothermia is not the worst way to go. You'd more or less go to sleep as your heart slows down to a stop.

Once when boating, I had to be in cold water up to waist for 30 seconds and I struggled to get back in the boat; the feeling in my legs was almost gone

so about the door or what ever the piece of wood was. they both couldnt be on it becuase then theyd both be still in the water. if you look, rose is actually floating above the water. this prevented her from dying as fast as everyone else who were still in the water. i put jacks death up there with gandalf where viewers try to bargin with the deaths of these characters. just accept thier passing and feel sad for once. its ok to be sad.

The test didn't prove he was wrong, they could both fit on the door, the problem would be buoyancy and water being too cold. We dont know if they would survive in real life. All ended up as maybe in the end.. There is a deleted scene that shows a random man swimming towards Jack and Rose and he wants to get on the door with Rose and Jack tells him to stay away - this is just enough for this lady, you'll push it under. Another deleted scene shows Rose being rescued from her lifeboat. She was barely holding on, 2 men helped her to climb on the board of Carpathia and then she collapsed into a lady's arms. I dont think many people will think about her previous stay in the cold water (first saving Jack and then both being swept by the water, her wearing the wet dress the whole time during the cold night, the exhaustion, body shutting down), in order to stay alive you have to stay above the freezing water, they could both fit onto the door but they would be partially submerged and could easily die of hypothermia so what Jack did was giving Rose the best chance to stay alive knowing he wouldnt make it.
