🔰The first video of the year had to be Bukowski. If I could characterize this poem with one word it would be "human" I like its down-to-earth style and its simplicity. I don't want to say anything else that might affect your interpretation. I am just grateful that you guys watch my work and keep me company. I wish you the best in 2020.

📓You Get So Alone at Times That It Just Makes Sense
amzn.to/2Vx9cAl
you know and I know and thee know
that as the yellow shade rips
as the cat leaps wild-eyed
as the old bartender leans on the wood
as the hummingbird sleeps
you know and I know and thee know
as the tanks practice on false battlefields
as your tires work the freeway
as the midget drunk on cheap bourbon cries alone at night
as the bulls are carefully bred for the matadors
as the grass watches you and the trees watch you
as the sea holds creatures vast and true
you know and I know and thee know
the sadness and the glory of two slippers under a bed
the ballet of your heart dancing with your blood
young girls of love who will someday hate their mirrors
overtime in hell
lunch with sick salad
you know and I know and thee know
the end as we know it now
it seems such a lousy trick after the lousy agony but
you know and I know and thee know
the joy that sometimes comes along out of nowhere
rising like a falcon moon across the impossibility
you know and I know and thee know
the cross-eyed craziness of total elation
we know that we finally have not been cheated
you know and I know and thee know
as we look at our hands our feet our lives our way
the sleeping hummingbird
the murdered dead of armies
the sun that eats you as you face it
you know and I know and thee know
we will defeat death.

I'm usually the kind of person that is constantly blamed for being heartless and cold..and I admit I sometimes can be but I feel such warmth from Bukowski's poems even solace ..whenever I feel like the world is too harsh and blind..I go back to him and he makes me feel understood..

Now I'm not really good at talking to girls that I like But there's this one girl in particular that I just might And I'm not sure if she knows I exist Seeing her smile gives me a touch of bliss You see, I never thought of myself as an obsessive kind But I guess it's a broken flaw sewn into my design It consumed me and I was lost in my mind I became drawn like a detective to a crime I would wait, watch and pray Hoping that this girl would come my way But one day it came to my conclusion That having her was all an illusion So I gave up chasing, now in search of better love Slowly she became someone who I would hardly think of But like an addict fighting to overcome an addiction I wanted the very thing that had caused me great afflictions So I mustered up all my courage to ask her out In my way stood a great barrier of doubt i needed to know if she felt the same way about me I went in search of her to the place she would normally be In the gymnasium, I saw her kissing the high school jock Which sent chills inside of me that ran widely amuck And like hot water on a stove My anger boiled and overflowed Into my pocket i went for the knife I used for protection Staring at the blade, I saw my own reflection Slowly my anger rose, then greatly increased Gazing back, I saw not man, but beast And Into his cold, naked eyes I saw A vision of a lion, a tin man and a figure made out of straw And as my soul became greatly infested It became clear I had become everything I once detested So I turned back hoping no one had seen What great horrors that could have been And invisible to all, I slowly walked away Beauty was given a chance to live another day

How could I've known that I only would have to listen to Charles Bukowski instead of reading and Jungian psychanalysis for 5 or 6 years, this just to visit the darkest corners of my soul to come back and be able to realize where the light is coming from. Hold your loved ones, cherish every moment with them ... ...with the all gratefulness as potential, you have opportunity to wish farewell and caring... .....at the conclusion of this fate that will take our whole being apart. You might cry, don't hold it cause THIS is the real grief not the opposite way. We never cry the dead, we only suffer the collapse of our illusions and the temptation that made us betray our own soul.

I always shied away from Bukowski... largely due to my own prejudices against him based upon what I had read/heard about his lifestyle... and also because, for the most part, my deep loathing for contemporary prose poetry. But over the last month, having got sucked into various YT poetry videos, this Man, his Words have moved me like no other modern poet... indeed, one should never judge another by the cover of their book. Thanks for your awesome videos.

Every night when we sleep I stay awake Trying to exorcise these demons For goodness sake. Every night it is sweet Like the new wine You and I used to drink Waiting for the sign To take us away To take us away. Every night this ghost It keeps us company But we don't mind we make the most Of the empty, lovely.... ...Hour. We fill it to the brim With all that we have With patience wearing thin What more could we add? To take us away To take us away. Every night the shadows I know them to find But what about the light That hides behind? It is there every night Like a shy child Shielded from the glare Awaiting the sign To take it away To take it away. Every night there's a promise For us to fulfil But like the two robbers It hangs around... ...The one that they took To kill While we were asleep We cling to it still To take us away To take us away.

Squirm. Run from my scalpel. Far, further. Into the frost. A woman, Blood red eater. A sick lullaby as the antithesis of a savior. Defied by last breath's freedom.

Honestly man. this world needs people like you. you need to keep showing us how you feel about the nature of art. thats what we all have to do. to breath another day,to feel another way,to catch the glory of sunrise, when its prisoned under our certains. Thanks. Live and set this world on fire. for thats what you were born for,for thats how the world hears..

Fucking beautiful. I love it when you get bukowski’s actual voice. Also if you live in Greece some ancient architecture would look amazing in your shots!

I just think, you humanize this poem and then I see the caption (I tend to read it after I watch the video, so it won't cloud my judgement/opinion), well great minds think alike lol Sometimes, it still baffles me how your video feels like specially crafted and professionally recorded like it should be on theatre or something, and yet I can watch these masterpieces (all of your videos are) for free, no charge at all. Thank you for sharing this beauty with us, Bukowski to start 2020 is such a great idea. Also, I love the blooper at the end, wishing you luck for your next encounter with cats 🐈

Thank you for your kind words, and you are clever to avoid descriptions before you see an artistic video. Next time I will give my pet.

Could you do my favourite poem "Do not go gentle in to that good night"? Some might recognises it from the movie interstellar :) Fantastic videos. I'm very impressed. Love the gentle voice, the wonderful shots and that there is always a cat. Always. Thank you!

I asked Bukowski how his defeating death is going since his body died. His mouth twisted in a wry smile. "You're reading my poetry and writing about me right now, aren't you? Pretty good, I'd say."

I'm here, and you tapped my shoulder with a complicit subtil smile. I know you Charles, you always did know me. You took me on a walk on the path at the frontier of the underworld, our habitat and the luminous world of heaven. I'm no different of the corpses, and they always knew me. We are the guardian of the sleep walkers. We're opening the way with truth, the bees of love deposit the rays of glorious love on the remains of the great tyran of hell.
