I worked in Qatar and some parts of the Middle east specifically in Food industries.I worked with a lot of Nigerians & Sudanis. I am fully aware that Africans are judge mentals at first and I was cultured shock as well how Africans portray their routines & personality. But eventually we became great friends after exchanging each others mistakes and flaws African people are really well spoken in terms of their feelings they are quickly to judge other people but also they are very friendly. Same with Filipinos the only difference is we are too sensitive to hear crticisms we usually don't get it unless they explain it really well. Just like the other African student said that our food is too sweet and full of sugar which is not true. We put sugar for most dishes but it is not over powering it is a main ingredients to the local food but it should be balanced unlike tasteless food without spices is not good. I tried African food as well and I can tell Spices is not well corporated they prefer the taste of the the main product to be above the rest and it is over powering all the spices and too salty as well. However that is the beauty of cultural differences. Not all people is raised the same way.

I'm a Filipino who lived grew up in Qatar my whole life 25+ years and I'll have to disagree on your statement about food being too sweet I agree with the Nigerian everything here in Philippines is sweet, I find the mayonnaise is sweet, the local Eden cheese and the margarine is sweet, most food items has no business being sweet are sweet. I had similar culture shock with the Nigerian, it takes a while for me to adjust, but there are few things I do admire and appreciate about PH which is the greenery, nature and fresh local vegetables.

@@sarahkybanez800 everything in Philippines is sweet? All food is sweet? I beg to disagree. We don't put sugar in kinilaw(civiche), tinola, otan bisaya (vegetable soup), pinakbet, sinugba and a lot of things... Maybe some of the foods including dessert of course are sweet but not all otherwise we all have diabetes now.

Manny from Nigeria is very observant and quite mature; even though he looks kind of shy. His insights about the educational system is quite surprising. I have been trying to figure out why in other countries colleges and universities are so hard to get in to, and only accepts very limited amount of people, and are ridiculously expensive I thought at first it's because they wanted to have the very best, but the more I think about it I realized that they want to control the exclusivity of those professions. They have made getting a degree or finishing the higher education to be a business. They did not prioritize learning, but rather the might dollar/money. Now everywhere in the world there are shortages of doctors and nurses. So many of our suffering are always rooted from someone's greediness

I think we’re probably the only Asian country where the food really tends to be on the sweet side (at least, for foreigners). Every Asian delegate I’ve met before had that observation. Also, we probably use a lot less spice/other condiments/herbs compared to most SEA countries that even things like celery and cilantro isn’t welcomed by most Filipinos. It was nice to know though that foreigners are finding PH as a good alternative for their educational aspirations. Wishing these kids a good experience here.

Wow, thank you for making this video and sharing what foreigners think about us. I had a Nigerian classmate before back in college in Manila. She's very studious and hardworking.

The saying "when you are in Rome, do what the Romans do." That applies to wherever place you are going. Adjusting to the Philippine culture is much easier than here in the US.

There are many Koreans living in the Philippines, most of them are studying and some are members of some Christian organizations. They study in the Philippines because it's a lot cheaper than in their country. They also claimed that they learned English faster than any other countries.

The Philippines is a Country that any culture can adjust, if u stay here for a year, you will end up thinking not going back home. 😅 At your first months, you will just get surprise of everything but if you get used into it.. trust me you will like it.
