Nobody is rewriting anything. You're the ones who need to check yourselves. The first time I read about the origin of Fuji music was in a book written by Wale Ademowo. In it, I got to know that there were two schools of thought on the history of the genre. While one school of thought believed that modern Fuji evolved from Faaji/Fuji Lawa, others believed that it was Barrister who did the transformation. The truth is that none of the two schools has ever downplayed the roles of Sikiru Ayinde Barrister in the transformation of Were/Faaji/Sakara to Fuji. This is similar to the argument surrounding the creation of Afrobeats between Fela Anikulapo and Orlando Julius. Yet, you will never see the family of Fela or his fans going around attacking Orlando Julius over his claims. They are very mature and know that Fela's legacy transcends Afrobeats. However, Fuji music happens to have the worst set of gullible fans who don't know their left from right. They seem not to know that people can agree to disagree without necessarily belittling one another. Instead of asking why Fuji music isn't taking advantage of Afrobeats to go global with the likes of Asake, Olamide and Seyi Vibes, they're contented with supremacy battles. If Asake were to be a Fuji musician, these people will be expecting him to be worshipping Barry on stage in every concert.
