Weapon Light - Hard Surface In ZBrush
80 LVL Article on why I use dynamesh over other more traditional software's for hard surface
- 80.lv/articles...
Buy my tutorial here - gum.co/HardSur...
This time lapse was additional content from my Hard Surface In ZBrush tutorial.
Have you ever found that the tools you use limit your ability to concept in 3D?
Well in this 3 part tutorial, Ill walk you through a new more fluid toolset and show you the process I use to achieve hard surface results in ZBrushes Dynamesh feature.
In part 1, I will give you a complete walk through of all the tools I use, the logic behind them, as well as show you examples of how id use them in my process.
In part 2, I will break down my previous BB-L Radio design piece by piece, and show you in real time exactly how I went about constructing the model in Dynamesh.
And in part 3, you can watch it all come together in a 3 hour time lapse where I make the BB- S Radio from start to finish. interspersed with talks about the software, my design process, and keeping your mesh clean for renders.

Hey man, have you seen Zbrush 2021.7? Who knows how your modeling style (which I love) will improve with the new tools, especially the new slice and bevel brushes. I think now it's easier and faster to make perfect round bevels, unfortunately it seems not work on curved edges, for now. PIxologic seems want to be continuing development for this not classical kind hardsurface modeling.

I love your vids, dude. Thanks for the great content. It's awesome seeing what can be achieved in ZBrush. Quick question, do you think it'd be viable to use these rough sculpts as a base in order to retopologize and create cleaner high poly models for production?

OI FANKS! I wouldnt recommend it. But, I think it is possible to work in such a way that you keep things clean enough to eventually used it as a bake mesh.

How do you deal with the retopology? For texturing in Substance and other uses after that

You are my favorite modeler with this style 👍 i really like your videos. You are not the only one using these techniques, but you are probably the best, IMHO. I love to be able to cut or add stuff where I want, with minimal attention to topology..It would be a dream to do it completely, but there is still a way to go in zb. To make concept models, which don't have to be 100% accurate, but let's just say 80%..this is the way👍 There are several professional reasons why you may find this technique more useful than traditional polygon or nurbs.

Hi man I got your zbrush course and its truly amazing! my goal is to learn how to make hard surface designs! But before spend I a lot of time learning a new software I’m really curious what your opinion is. I see 3Dcoat also as a lot of hard surface potential just like zbrush. I see you know how to use both. Could you tell me what would be the stronger program to make hard surface designs in? 3dcoat or zbrush and why?
@CaneTwn
@CaneTwn Жыл бұрын
For me it came down to zbrush being better at the later stages with getting a more refined end result. But I haven't used 3D coat in years, so I don't know how the tools have progressed.

@@CaneTwn interesting! Would you be interested to revisit 3Dcoat? And you know of a good tutorial/course that learns 3Dcoat hard sruface stuff?

there is definitely pros and cons using zbrush ,some shapes are clearly easier to do in blender for example especially with box cutter and stuff like that ,while it's sure when it comes to organic hard surface with curve and stuff ..zbrush is cool ..i just wish zbrush would have a more regular modeling system than that crap of zmodeler ..just to make simple primitives extrude scale inset ..you can't even bevel edges to round them up ..only chamfer ,it's a nightmare

@@CaneTwn fortunately the blender bridge (GOZ ) works really well with blender ,you can easilly send a geo in zbrush and send it back to blender ..would have been cool to have a bridge between 3d coat and zbrush as well
