Quickly becoming one of my favorite reviewer's. Straight up, no nonsense. I had one in .308 with a vortex viper. Was a tackdriver. Had the 24" barrel. Not the best in the woods here in the US in North Georgia where I hunt. I have 20" .308 with a vxlll in 2.5x8x36 now, it's just absolute perfection in the woods. Keep up the great work my friend.

I have a Vanguard in 300 WBY MAG . Went to the factory in Paso Robles and added ,the Bell &Carson stock ,and WBY Brake . With a Leupold V2, 3x9x40 , free floated barrel , it's a tack driving hog killer. I use a hand load with 79 grs Alliant 22 powder , with a Barnes 180 gr bullet . Can't go wrong with a Vanguard .

My brother has a Vanguard in 308. It’s just a pretty Howa and has all the same characteristics. Once you find an ammo it likes it will shoot good enough to get the job done all day long and that rifle has reliably taken a veritable mountain of game.

I have the same exact rifle from Weatherby. Except my barrel is 24 inches and not 26 inches. I also have the Acura brake on it. You get 300 Winchester magnum power with the recoil of a 243 by having the Accu break. I like mine very much.

i have 9 year old Weatherby in Synthetic Stainless 30-06. Guaranteed to shoot 1.5 moa, it consistently shoots less than 1 moa. The trigger had creep which was a well known issue so i replaced it with a Timney and this Long arm just keeps on giving. Great Underrated rifles, they are up there with some of the more fancied rifles out in the market place.

I love my Vanguard in .300 Wby Mag. I could shoot it all day every day if the ammo wasn’t so expensive. I was looking at a Winchester Model 70 in .300 Win Mag but it got sold before I could snag it, went to the next gun store, seen the vanguard and settled for it and I got to say. I love the trigger, best of any stock trigger I’ve tried.

My Weatherby Vanguard 25-06s only fault that I honestly don't like is the fact that it isn't stainless steel. It is very accurate and has very good balance.

I've got a couple of vanguards, one is a wooden stock, and the other is a composite stock. Both of these rifles will stack 3 rounds into a single jagged hole everytime I do my part right. The composite stock is lighter and I camouflage painted the whole thing, scope and all. This is my preferred rifle for hunting in wet weather because I can disassemble it and clean it Pronto. You can't beat the vanguards, but my Howas are just as good because they are all made in Japan by the Howa company.

Is this rifle manufactured by Howa for Weatherby? I have a Howa 1500 in .223 and the design of this Weatherby - bolt, number of lugs, safety, trigger appears to be the same. Also on Brownells if you search for Howa components Weatherby components come up too.

Contact manufacturer and see what the ammo they are using for that group in their testing that is what the rifle is built for this is so simple even 22 long rifle are made for a certain ammo I don't know why people have so many problems just think they can buy any box and shoot anything through it doesn't work that way in pistols either

Bolt throw is 90 degrees, it’s a controlled round feed and that means it’s 90.
@michaelc40603 жыл бұрын
@daniel boggan I dont think its 90 degrees and its most certainly not CRF. It's a push feed and there is no reason a CRF needs to be 90 degrees. You could make a straight pull bolt with CRF if your engineering wanted to.

Good video. My Weatherby 300win mag was a dud. The bolt was sloppy, and would stick. I had to clean the bolt after firing 3 shots or it would hang up.. Couldn't get it to zero after trying several different rounds and 3 scopes. Will never buy another one. So I bought a Bergara in 300 win mag, much better rifle.
@josephsoltes1250 Жыл бұрын
Hi I don’t get it. What’s wrong with the scope you got 50 mm lens and power you can crank the way you want. Actually I have that scope on my Weatherby vanguard 223 and shooting at 100m you can see the holes perfectly. Good shooting nice job.

3 shot group testing? Give me a break. You should fire at least 5 groups of 5 shots to really establish the capacity of the rifle. Try a group of 10 ...like in F class
@toddspencer25053 жыл бұрын
It’s a hunting rifle. If you need 10 shots of 300 win mag you shouldn’t be hunting
@mickroberts51663 жыл бұрын
@@toddspencer2505 its not about how many shots you need ... 3 shot groups are not representative of the real load capacity for accuracy, if you are to claim 'accuracy testing'
@michaelc40603 жыл бұрын
@@mickroberts5166 I'll contest that statement for my hunting rifles. I sight in the rifle then take it out once a day for several days and shoot a shot or two each day. (Or let the barrel cool between two shots and clean). Same rest, target, distance cartridge combination. NOW you have many shots but in 1-2 shot 'groups'. That's a better 'hunting accuracy' test because it mimics the way I hunt, (95% of the time a single), better than heating up and fouling the barrel with multiple shots. When hunting I might only take 1 shot over several days so why not mimic that? I always find it's best to test anything in the conditions it's going to be used, (if possible), rather than some standard that does not apply to my situation. I also practice from a tree stand at water jugs because that better mimics my hunting habits and kill radius than rest and paper target. 5th shot in a row has no relation whatsoever with my 'hunting accuracy'. And thats all I care about. Now if I was prairie dog hunting that's a whole different thing. Is there some flaw in this logic? I always looking to learn something new or improve my game. At my age better technique is becoming the only option.
@ivobiancucci45282 жыл бұрын
It's a hunting rifle three shot groups are acceptable - my coyote rifle is sighted in using only a cold bore shot cause that is how I hunt coyotes the first shot needs to be on the money and the coyote is expired
