Personal opinion: i think that anything any AI generates should be public domain for the simple fact that theyre training their AI by using (high probability) copyrighted material. Or at the least, the people who’s stuff was used to train should get lifetime free usage

@@JABRONZKI7 this AI argument is very similar to the panic around computers in music In the 80s and 90s yet computers didn’t stop people learning guitar and piano. If the grind never changes then AI has no impact.

One of your videos plopped up 2 weeks ago. After watching one video, I was hooked and spend 2h the same day. Next day I've discovered your second channel, and since then I'm binge watching your content and harass my friends with mentioning you. Now I've even became a Patreon. Whatever you do, you do it right. Best Music Production content out there, hands down.

Dude that new Orange Vocoder from Zynaptic you mentioned during NAM is officially out. Its half off for the intro price and probably one of the best vocoders right now. Much better than even Vocal Synth.
@Rhythmattica
@Rhythmattica Жыл бұрын
one of the founders of Zynaptic worked at Prosoniq,.... Even the original Orange Vocder (though less features) still blows other more modern ones away,... Btw, the same guy got the code from the guy that did the Hartmann Neuron synth, and released it as a VST plug in that didnt need the Nuke controller.... A bit gimped , but damn.. its different . Zynaptic do digital voodoo.

@@Rhythmattica seriously. Im shocked theyre selling it for 149 at intro price. Id have paid far more for it. I used vocalsynth for a while as it was my only real foray into dedicated vocoders but man its hard to dial in a good tone and I was consistently getting some weird phasing issues. Orange Vocoder has just worked flawlessly and its been so much fun just diving into it over the past weekend. Can't reccomend it enough. Esp w/ the whole 50% off until May 31st thing.

I feel like, whenever companies list use cases for their AI stuff, they're usually pretty stupid, if you stop to think about it for even a second. Like, if you want something to play along to, just search on KZbin for "genre", "key" and "backing track", and you'll have like thousands of results. You can also find the instrumental isolated to a lot of songs on KZbin, and just play along with that for practice. The idea of needing to go through the trouble of typing in text prompts to an AI to generate a backing track is absolutely absurd.

@Weaver Beats, I saw another more technical article where it was said that they used free use / copyright free music to sample from. Which makes sense. I heard this from other person as well. Google maintains and or has access as well as the general public to a ton of free use / copyright free music that can even be used for commercial purposes. Also, the guys getting their original A.I. music taken down, several lawyers have already stated publicly all these people have to do is list their original song and A.I. generated voice as a "parody" piece and that this would protect the person legally and stop any song uploaded from being taken down. Parody is of course, protected under free speech which also includes music. This is why you see Porn and or music, or video using "parody" to avoid any legal issues. I think there is even a "Star Wars" porn themed movie. I am not 100% sure, but I think one exists. There is also a ton artists out there that song like other artist and are able to work freely without legal issue, as long as they perform original works of art and or, pay the fees associated with life performances of copy righted songs. Listing this new A.I. generated voices that song like other artists using new music and new lyrics is actually completely legal as long as the song in question is listed as "parody." There is not a lot the record companies can do legally as long as original music, lyrics and the A.I. generated voice is explained and listed as parody. Even if the voice sounds similar to another artists. This, you can research yourself. The people uploading are either not wanting to use the word parody or are ignorant to this simple legal maneuver they can use to protect themselves .. AND .. stop their music from being taken down.

Yeah I wonder how the AI sampling law is. With AI images they had a case recently and using the AI image is infringement as it comes from copyrighted sources, but combining two or altering one is OK, maybe same with audio. So there’s a line, not sure where it’s drawn.

Ah yes UMG wetting the bed over copyrights as usual lol. Wait till they get the news that some of these AI models arent trained on audio but are trained on song length spectral images. Can you copyright protect visual representations of music? And who owns the rights of said analysis, the musician or the creator of the measuring tool? So many questions they will lobby to be ignored

I'm sure it'll get better fast, but I got into that Google Music LM thing and it's dogsh*t. Everything sounds like a weird fever dream approximation of music an alien made. There's no discernable beat or tempo or key for the most part, and vocals sound like dying animals, and it's all glitchy and creepy sounding. Not "high fidelity" in any sense of the term. Half the time if you put a specific genre it sounds hilariously nothing like that genre. I tried to make it play ska music and it sounded like bad off-key disco played underwater.

I thought people victmin of AI scams were essentially every single person that uses it? And there's little point in Spotify removing thousands of AI songs when they're one of the companies with the most amount of investment in AI. That's because they have a problem. That problem is having to pay musicians. Reverb wise, I see all those fancy paid reverbs and then....Valhalla SuperMassive can essentially do all of them for free.
