I wouldn't want to spend all my time pregnant... I just cant imagine having kids back to back like that, there is more to life than this type of procreation. I love kids, I have 3, I lost 3 and want another but after that I am done.

I know plenty of women who, despite exclusively breastfeeding, had their periods return by 2-4 months postpartum. And yes, some have kids less than or around a year apart.

"We get to spend more time individually with our children than a family of 4." - 24 hours a day- 8 hours of sleep =16 hours. - 1 hour with husband= 15 hours. - bathroom/shower times - 0.5 hours. = 14.5 hours. - homeschool prep time- 3.5 hours =10 hours. 10 hours a day divided by 17 children = 0.64 minutes MAX a day with each kid individually if she makes an effort to do 1 on one time with them each every day. Can she do individual time with one kid while she is preparing meals? Probably not. Can she do individual time with each kid as she is eating meals with everyone? Nope. Can she spend individual time while she is going shopping? It is possible if she brings one kid with her but what are the odds of that happening? Can she spend individual time with her kids at church? Nope. The doctors office? Yes, if she only brings one kid, but how often does that actually happen? Can she spend individual time with each kid when they are learning their instruments? Nope. The Duggars have music teachers. When do they get individual time with their kids? I would love to know. Most parents get individual time with their kids in the car, or they take their kid out for a special day. THey may take their child out individually for ice cream or to a museum. The Duggars don't do this. Even if they did, let's say a family of 4 kids took their kids out each month one day a month and each of the kids got a day once every 4 months which is 3 times a year per child. The Duggars could do this, and not even all their kids would get a day a year. They teach multiple kids around the kitchen table (not individual time) eat meals together (no individual time) they take multiple kids to go shopping (no individual time) they do family activities (no individual time) they prep and prepare meals with many kids (no individual times) there are always kids in the laundry room (no individual time.) Even if the parents spent every day individually dedicated to their children their children would get 21 days of the year of individual time with their parents, and we know that isn't possible.
