A better way to do corn is to leave on the husk, dunk each in water, place in microwave for about 5-6 minutes for one to two ears. Let cool a bit. Pull back the husks without removing them. The silk will peel off with the leaves. Use the husks for a handle. Dunk corn in melted butter. Salt and pepper to taste. Some folks like to sprinkle with a little sugar. Delicious! 😋

I never tried to remove oil from clothes with bicarbonate, because talcum powder works perfectly, and it's quick: cover the stain with plenty of talcum powder and spread it until the powder sticks to the fabric. Leave to act for about 5 minutes. Remove talcum powder by scraping with your fingernails. Repeat if necessary.

I love all of your hacks, but I particularly love the decorations. Perrier is one of my favorite beverages when I can get it (it's not popular in the US, weirdly, and when you can get it, it's very expensive). This lime decoration for Perrier is brilliant. Have you ever been to Pont-en-Royans in France? It's a tiny, most wonderful village (we have friends there and we visit when we can). They have a water museum. Water from everywhere in the world. They have water that's nearly 200 years old. They also have classes on how to taste water. Taste water? Yeah, it's really a thing, They teach you how to taste minerals, as well as to taste bubbles in water that is not still. There is actually bottled bubbly water that is 50 Euro a bottle, or more depending on the age. Who new there was a water THING? We did, because we've been to Pont-en-Royans several times.

Have you ever used a microwave for simultaneously shucking and cooking corn on the cob? Cut off the big end of the corn cob about one inch down. Microwave the cob on high for about 3.5 minutes. Holding it with a towel (it's hot!) squeeze the tassel end until the corn cob slides out of the big end with no silky hairs!

1 cup of corn (total cup of cut corn kernels) is 132 calories. Boiling corn can deplete (any vegetable and greens) up to 1/2 calories and nutrition. If you steam those corn cobs (in a pot with steamed water or a pressure cooker) you save all calories and nutrition. Also steaming whole husk corn in a microwave or a pressure cooker expands the corn cob, while releasing and steaming each kernel, then strip off the husk and have a larger corn cob with detached kernels, that the corn tassels are easily removed from the cob.
