Hello. I'm so glad to hear that! Thank you. As I kept on talking, there were times I either grew tired or excited and forgot to keep the pace I originally set! I only realized later that I was getting quite fast in Part 3. I think my accent is fairly standard for American English. Since childhood, I've tried hard not to use the regional accent from my home state of Pennsylvania. I always admired the way news reporters talked on TV, and that likely influenced my speech. :) Regards!

Yes, yes. I should have mentioned that there are often wedding favors. That's what we call the little gift for each guest that serves as a memento. Favors can be small, like candies, as you described, or larger, like a wine glass. At one wedding, we all got practical gifts like shoe horns (to help slip on your shoes). Thanks for sharing!

Yes, they are fun. I didn't mention the live accordion music, but my cousin always plays at family weddings. Add to that the fiddle and sometimes other instruments. There's great energy. :) Thanks for watching.

For me, ЗАГС wasn't the real wedding. I feel I got married two days later at the church. ЗАГС reminded me of a wedding chapel in Las Vegas. It was quick and somewhat like an assembly line. I only put my gown on for the church ceremony. However, I can't complain about having two special days. After ЗАГС we had a big family dinner, much like a rehearsal dinner. The reception after church was much larger and more fun! :)

Hello and thank you for the sweet words. :) I don't can't speak many languages. English is my native language. I speak Russian all right, but I should practice more! In the past, I've studied other languages briefly, so although I can't speak them much at all, I have a basic understanding of how they work. (French, Japanese, Portuguese)

In Italy, usually after the cutting of the cake, the bride and the groom give their wedding guests sugared almonds held in decorated little boxes.

@Msspmex20127 жыл бұрын
Hi again! In Mex we dont have the rehearsal thing, people here just set a date and get married, they just do it, with no rehearsal. :) Also women here cannot change their last names when they get marry. Its not legaly possible. Men and women have two last names, our fathers and our mothers last names and when women get married it remains the same. I think thats a very good tradition for others to copy #womanpower 😎👰🏻💄💪🏼💅🏼💃🏻😜

Hello Jake. Please visit my website and read through my Study Tips. I also have a list of recommended resources. You might like these sites: esl-lab.com elllo.org nrp.org (use the transcripts with the podcasts) Regular practice and exposure to different speakers will help. Don't just listen to a recording or film clip once. Multiple times are necessary. Good luck!
