Ronald and Vivian were on the verge of calling it quits. Vivian’s gambling at the casino and Ronald’s frequent fleeing to a hotel was driving them into crushing debt. With four children at home, this house of cards was on the verge of collapsing. Then, just days before Gail arrives to help, they get the notice of foreclosure on their house. Can this family be saved?

A lot of people throwing shade in the comment section and that's fair enough, but the thing that stood out in this episode for me was how brilliant Gail was. She went above and beyond for this couple, sending them all the help she could think of. Wonderful creature, I hope they used the help she gave them and sorted out their shit.

It might be a sign of their emotional maturity. Kids, especially teens, often do this when confronted as a coping mechanism. These two had kids early and often, and were not equipped to handle it. So they periodically run away to motels and casinos for a break. They really need to grow up for the sake of their children.

That can also be that look of desperation, of giving up on everything you thought life would look like. I know this “shut down” demeanor well, and it can be a survival tactic when life spirals out of control, and you feel you have no power over said spiral, and everything you “try” to do just backfires because nobody can make helpful choices alone in this “shut off” state. So, seems like he sure needed Gail!! :) Oh gosh, and he lived with his in laws for a long time, jeez!!! I would shut down too just to survive.

Just floored by her saying she doesn't know why she was fired. She sounded sincere, like she genuinely didn't understand. Wonder if it's a case of them telling her and it was in one ear out the other because she's stressed and just didn't really WANT to hear it, or she wasn't able to put together the very big obvious puzzle pieces of "not showing up" + "on probation at new job" = they're going to let her go. She has a real air of being *used* to being helpless, hope she was able to get out of that mindset.

I think the kids are neglected. So why do they still have kids and how in the world does St. Gail not want to slap these 2? Inappropriate weird behavior. Gail really is a saint for keeping on with these 2 scary useless people breeding kids because they can have sex! Sorry Im a nurse gotta tell it like it is.

Those kids would be better off in foster care. They should live in their vehicles till they get straightened out and can buy another house.

Those things are really really hard to come back from. Becoming homeless makes it really difficult to keep a job. Getting your kids OUT of fostercare is difficult.. especially if you are homeless.
