…and Pip 😊 Super good communicator with passion for sailing and the elements at sea. And who showed skilled seamanship saving herself after dismasting👍

Conrad Colman surely deserves mention for extraordinary reports and drone shots!

The english version is sooooo much better than the french one, more news and videos from skippers, concise time spent on weather maps and routes. Great job

Boris set the communication standard in VG2020 and he has maintained the same high standard this time plus Sam Goodchild, Conrad Colman and Pip Hare.

We enjoy the Vendee Globe as if we were competitors. Thank-you Dee from Madrid.

Thanks Dee. I felt the response to the foilers vs. daggerboards was dismissive. The advantage of 10 or 15 percent in performance can’t be overstated and the costs of conducting a campaign are through the roof. Finding sponsorship would be less difficult if there was an additional podium for the non foiling competitors and the rational of “this is the way we’ve always done it” really doesn’t make sense when the rules for the class have dramatically changed. We want greater participation and a level playing field, not just ultra professionals with massive budgets. And what about the question of foiling rudders so the boats aren’t as brutal on the health and well being of the skippers? I’m not complaining but merely suggesting a reconsideration of certain aspects of the race. It doesn’t devalue the epic nature of the Vendee.

Exactly Jonathan ! As with many regattas, they could have class honours/cups/prizes. I also think that all of the competitors would nominate Jean Le Cam for the Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur for his service to sailing & his country.

Set up a proper handicap system or a totally different class.

Whilst the rest of the world continues to change to try and attract more teams or fans, the Vendee Globe succeeds because of it's simplicity. One skipper, one class of boat, one race, non stop. Give it fifteen years and the foilers may be the slow fleet, then what? As for the chances to the boats design, that is entirely for the skippers to decide.

@tomhermens7698 No, because that's too complicated for people to understand, they need to attract More followers 😂

@@harryspedding7456 The commentators (& audience) are already designating separate categories in the race (non-foilers, 1st generation foilers & latest generation foilers). No need for a handicap system or a staggered start or anything complicated - just formal recognition for their achievement in their category (they'll have informal recognition anyway - Jean Le Cam being the prime example). There can be no harm in awarding a cup for the winner in each category of IMOCA (currently 3).
