Wdym, Russians are about to encircle Ukrainian forces in Avdiivka, a city that has been on the front line of the war since 2014 and heavily fortified by the Ukranians. Losing it so quickly would be a major blow to Ukranian defense capabilities in Donbas.

I meant on the scale of what we saw in the beginning of the war. Avdiivka is important, sure, but slowly taking it (or not) over the course of months is not the same as the fast border changes we saw near the beginning@@xhan1167

First it was all of ukraine, then the eastern part, then severodonetsk, then bakhmut, now avdiivka. The major focuses are getting smaller and smaller, eventually it'll just be fighting over a blade of grass. This war will never end :/

The fact that people are calling what's happening in Avdijivka a breakthrough is weird, because it’s more of a small push over a week, that both sides are still fighting for, rather than them finding a hole in the frontline and breaking through it. (I am pro-ukrainian)
