Weekend progress on my 1955 Chevy two door sedan project

I have a bunch of metal work to do. This is just a couple hours from Saturday night and Sunday. I'll continue next weekend because I work on customer cars during the week.

I like the way your repairing the quarter. I was thinking that car was originally Harvest gold. Neptune green is a pretty color on 55s, I believe 56 it was darker and called sherwood green. Later Man

Full quarters ARE expensive. My ‘55 project has horrible lower front quarter patches on both sides (some hack tried to use pieces cut from completely different kind of car). I’m looking for donor OEM pieces to fix that but no luck yet. I might have to buy new quarters just to get that piece (BOTH sides).

John, they sell the front lower patches unless the hacker got it above the trim line

@@johnkelly6942 Oh, a Nomad. I love Nomads. Maybe buy two rear four door sedan rear doors for the skins only. Also buy the wheel well openings sections if you need that wheel lip section.

Look forward to following along with this build plenty of tricks I'll be able to pick up when you tackle that quarter. I have to do the same on the 55 HT I'm working on but I bought a new panel, you're right very pricey. I was watching an old post of yours as I am working on my frame right now and was wondering any chance you'd give out the angle you used for the frame stiffener from the frame to the driveline channel and the space inside to inside on the driveline channel itself and did you require those two tapered areas on the channel for the body brace? That frame really was a work of art especially with all that extra metal you added that shows in the engine bay.

I don't remember the measurements. I do know I went too wide on the rails for the driveshaft. The edges of the rear floor pans were touching. So I had to cut and angle plate them.
