Cassa frass you're obviously too young to remember the original cast which made this show famous. aside from Colin and Che the guests are painfully immature, silly, and conflate stupid with funny. John Belushi, Garrett Morris, Gilda Radner.. made these people look like grade school kids. same with everything truly great that was hijacked by a horribly inferior cast, Star Trek, etc.. even Sesame Street.. people did LSD in the 60s-70s and the bar was higher, creativity was deeper

I've always loved this show and maybe I wasn't alive from the first episode but that has nothing to do with my understanding and knowledge of the show's history. I said 'one of the best' because there will never be a better weekend update duo than Jane Curtin and Dan Akroyd, and when Dan called Jane an ignorant slut, I'm sure there were moral and intellectual comedy gatekeepers who said that was vulgar, immature, and not funny.
