I use the baby pig feeder from rural king. It is very similar but it has an adjustable piece of sheet metal at the bottom so you can make the opening bigger. I also put some 1x2 mesh inside to keep them from digging. It will last ten quail about a week.

Honestly I will have to watch and see. I can not remember but now we just bend it in and weld but I don’t remember what we did back then
