Your voice cracking in that last line honestly adds so much to the song, in a way I'm glad you couldn't sing it without breaking. Vocalists who genuinely feel the emotions behind the lyrics always perform and ring true.

I never expected Vex's song to be so heartbreaking.... a great character study of the hurt under her self-confident exterior and desire for material riches, and what she truly values under it all. As for the last line, I'd never have realized that it hadn't been meant to break off, it was truly perfect.

This song is absolutely beautiful. It perfectly captures the wants of Vex. How she always wanted to be known instead of being worthless. Her own father abandoned her and vax but this song hits so different cause she is just trying to prove herself to everyone as well as trying to find her own way in this messed up world. Chase you are an absolute legend. Your music always hits especially your Vox Machina songs. Keep up the great work. Your doing amazing

That voice break honestly adds so much more to this songs end. It stays steady throughout in it's highs and lows. Flows smooth. So for it to break then literally makes it hold quite a bit of weight in a very good way. You don't really get that in songs usually. (Also will admit that part made me cry a bit.)

Okay, I didn’t know anything about Vox Machina (I finally looked it up in Google), but when this song cycled through on auto play the hair stood up on the back of my neck. Truth. The evocatively somber but heartfelt lyrics, the warm baritone voice that I could feel in my chest through the subwoofer. I love this song. I love listening to it, I love singing it (it lets me use my lower range). This is a perfect song and leagues better than anything playing on internet radio.
