Taranenko may have C&J'd more in competition, but NO ONE makes that kind of weight look as easy as Lasha. Watch the clean from Taranenko's 266 lift, he's really struggling and fighting with the bar for the whole lift... Lasha barely even flexes, even with the bar overhead, he's so static it's insane. Absolutely stunning lift, without a doubt the GOAT. It's hard to imagine anyone ever coming close to this. I'd also say as well that Lasha is a great example of "one size doesn't fit all". Far too many PTs, regardless of sport, try and force athletes to follow a very specific technique, form, etc. You see it in Strongman so often, with people criticising some of the strongest men in the world for having a bent back during a deadlift. Lasha's stance during the C&J is not what most coaches would teach, and for a lot of athletes having the front foot land first would probably affect their balance quite a bit, but it absolutely works for him. He knows his style and skillset so well, he knows exactly how to get the best out of what he has, and I truly think that's what sets the true champions apart from the rest. In most sports, people quickly get bored of this level of domination... but I could never get bored of watching this guy lift.
@giorgisulukhia15743 жыл бұрын
Credits have to be given to his coach as well - 2004 olympic world champion Giorgi Asanidze, a great professional. I believe that they together will reach 500 kg target in 2024 Olympiad. For this summer 290 would be great I think. However, I have to admit I hoped for 265 C&J in Moscow, I know it's unnecessary risk but still we are too used to see WRs by Lasha every time he lifts :)

The way I see this - all other things equal - is that he has monetary incentives built into his various sponsorship deals for every win and record he takes so with this he keeps them ticking over nicely AND while the Europeans is a big deal, it’s not worlds or the Olympics, and he’s saving the very best snatch, c&j, and total he has for the biggest occasion, with the most pomp and pageantry, against the “best in the world” (which to be fair to Gor is a bit of a misnomer because he is the second best currently).

I mean 225-227 is there for the snatch already.. His third attempt CJ looked like he had 4-6kg more in him, possibly even more. That's on a conservative note like 492kg that he's capable of already, and 496kg if we're still being reasonble and if the stars align for Lasha. I hate to say it, but if Lasha stays injury free and has his best competition day tech and strenght wise, then we'll see 500kg in total in about 4-5 years. Unheard of numbers, but they're right there staring at us. He's probably never going to be dethroned in our lifetime, and let's just soak up all of his performances with blessed eyes.
