The reason the GameCube's initials is the GCN instead of NGC was thanks to the National Geographic Channel having NGC trademarked.

The change was after this video was released, but there's the Yakuza franchise being rebranded as Like a Dragon to better fit the Japanese name. There's also how they added Shin Megami Tensei to Persona 3 and 4's original releases here in the west, but dropped them as Persona became more popular than SMT itself. You mentioned the way reboots would reuse titles, but it's even crazier to me that we have two Star Wars Battlefront II (the original and the sequel to the reboot), and two separate series called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 1-3. Cool video, btw. This is the type of thing that sometimes keeps me up at night lol

@@crogan0dragons249 I absolutely love the Yakuza series! The name change still feels weird to me, but i get it. The COD one is especially odd. I can kind of understand them using just the series name for a reboot, but when it's a subtitle and a sequel number, it's pretty bizarre. I remember i was so confused when i heard everyone talking about MW2 again, like that game hadn't been out for a long time, haha. Thanks for checking out the video!
