The whole reason Nevel (his last name was Papperman) became a villain in the first place is that he had a crush on Carly but then she rejected him so him just being an overly dramatic kid with too much time on his hands made it his mission to destroy her so she would "rue the day" she ever said no to him. Even in the reboot, getting married to another woman was a trick to get Carly to marry him instead. The guy who plays him, Reed Alexander, is actually more of a chef and journalist now but he reprised his role for the episode because he really likes the character.

That paycheck is REALLY agreeing with James Jenkins! The editing's even MORE amazing. I never watched iCarly, but based on the mid-budget KZbin content of 2022, it seems incredibly prescient. However the straight-ahead line delivery coming out of such weird, exaggerated character models is...just terrifying.

Prior to this video, all I knew of iCarly was it was one of the approximately 500 sitcoms aimed at kids aged 10 to 14 that aired on Nickelodeon and Disney Channel during the late ‘00s/early ‘10s. So I appreciate Ashton taking the time to explain what the show was about.
