@@goose7618 I actually managed to clutch back a game where one team got the signal twice, but it took an insane amount of luck and they only got it the second time with like 15 seconds left. It's just really easy for the game to snowball if the center team ever loses control of the center.

@@drnarwhal2888 I've also been playing since the first game and, to my utter shock, the less than twelve hours I've played of the premiere has single handedly stumped every single second of both games COMBINED. That's saying a lot since I've put around 400 hours in Splatoon 2 ALONE. The only other games I've played that are THIS good are Metroid Dread, and Earthbound. And those games don't have as much replay value since they have an inherent lack of multiplayer.

I don't think so, as the tricolor battles went on and everyone was able to get a grasp on what exactly they were doing, Team Scissors started getting more victories with Rock and Paper having less FFAs in the map margins. I'd say give it time for the mechanic to sink in. It's only the first time anyone is doing this after all.

I have a feeling nintendo will use our matches as feedback and balance it for the actual release. (Dont forget that match replays is literally a feature now, I'm sure nintendo is going to get as much feedback as they could ever wish for. Maybe you just haven’t eaten it in the right way. There are places that use crab in meals like crab Mac and cheese or fried crab jalapeño cheese balls, etc. and they taste amazing. That said, if you’re saying that he’s the only person you’ve ever seen do it, perhaps you live on the mainland where crab quality would be crap and therefore not tasty. I recommend trying it out someplace closer to shore.

Imagine if there was a new weapon added to Splatoon based on the winning team: - Rock is a set of gauntlets that first block frontal attacks and release a devastating ink punch. Pressing Squid mid charge on the ground makes you dig through the ground and shoot ink and concrete shards forward - Scissors is a quick, wide cutting attack that launches you in the direction you aim, increasing lunge distance with charge (splattering ink everywhere, of course) - Paper is a printer that creates 3 origami shuriken on the ground that move in a fan motion. In midair, you can charge homing paper airplanes and also slow your fall while charging

Yeah. It was really brutal on the winning team. Especially since scissors was only winning by 1% at halftime. I hope they balance it a bit for future splatfests. It was still a really fun mode and it’s still a really good idea, it was just implemented kind of poorly in this splatfest.

I wish tricolor battles were structured in a more symmetrical way. The middle team is on defense constantly and it feels very unbalanced. Why not have a 3-way fight to the center, 2v2v2? Edit: This would also involve a different kind of map that has a 3-way design, so every team starts at the edge and goes inward

As center team, it's basically a 4v4. As edge teams, it's 2v2v4, with a tentative alliance between the teams of 2. 2v2v2 would be unbalanced because it's always a 2v4, not to mention the maps aren't designed for that.

It would be unbalanced that way, since the other 2 teams kinda team up to defeat red rather than each other it would essentially turn into a 4v2. It’ll get better as the splatfests go on and people find strategies. One I saw often that seemed successful was having 2 reds stay as defense on the signal and the other 2 go around inking.

I think the imbalance is the point. It puts the leading team in a disadvantageous position so the other two have a chance to catch up. That's the purpose, and it served well, but the question is whether it will serve too well. If being in first at half time is an automatic death sentence then it's not working as intended and needs some balancing factors, but that's something we'll need to run through a few splatfests to see.

As a Scissors player, it's because of unbalanced the Tri-Color Turf Wars were. The 2-person teams got such large areas to ink and could only be reached by like bombs, while the 4-person team got a small area that the other teams could easily flank and take over, not to mention how OP the Sprinklers of Doom were, so if anyone got the Ultra Signal it was almost impossible for the 4-person team to win

A lot of scissor streamers were really out there winning “x333” , “x100” and what not. Heck I remember coming back in game and Scissors were winning. Their hype made me feel like our team (Rock) lost and I accepted that. Then team scissors got quiet 🤣🤣. They didn’t even get second place! And that team was AGGRESSIVE! honestly from what i experienced with tricolour (as a scissors player), no one was really focussing on protecting the ultra signal so when paper/rock got it, it was almost impossible to regain the turf we lost.

I think nintendo is starting to realize that this is one of their biggest games, and they are starting to listen to us. With the amount of players that were on and the amount of disconnects we had, I expected more disconnects. I crash as much on splatoon 2 with barely anybody on as I do with the entire fan base playing on the testfire of the game. The splatoon team is putting more effort into this game than I've ever seen them do before. I'm very optimistic that they will tweak the tricolor mode a bit and am extremely excited with what comes out in probably the next 2 years. 0/5 stars Big Man deserves better, we need to see this man become a God for splatoon 3's splatocalypse. I would rate it a 5 star if we just get Shiver and Frye vs. Big Man for the final fest, get payback for teaming up on us in the first splatfest.

Not going to lie, the demo ended just as I was getting out of a match, and I spent like four or five hours just sorta staring into space not knowing what to do. I'm literally going to get this game and Nintendo Online as soon as I have a job. On the bright side, I got really good with the Aerospray, and my best game was eight enemy splats and only two times getting splated. And for my first time playing Splatoon, I think that's pretty impressive. Also also #TeamRockForLife Edit: I caved and pre-ordered with the last of my money. I will literally just buy a month at a time until I get a job. Damnit Nintendo, you got me this time!
