I'm from Chicago the mother of the Black P Stone Nation and I would tell these brothers to protect the land. Invest in the block, buy real estate, and pool your money together because they are going to really gentrify this area. It's dangerous, but it's beautiful and one of the best parts of LA. Move your money around before they move you around!

Back in the day, the only bike shop in the area was Lee's Schwinn over on King Blvd in the Jungle. We used to ride our bikes over there, and almost every time those boys from the Jungle would come after us to try and take our bikes. We never got caught, but it was always an adventure going to that bike shop. Sadly, Lee's Schwinn was burned down during the Rodney King riots in 1992.

Its not cool to be on the block all day doing nothing being ignorant doing dumb shit... whoever reads this please remove yourself from the pack and start creating your own way this life was and never will be fun. They was kind of close to me and I kinda gave them a look like a quick size up like what’s up with them, I was with my girl at the time. Anyway I notice they were listening to me talk to the vendor like I could tell they was listening to every word then they walked away. For years I was like that was weird as fuck. After living in LA for some years now I realized they probably thought I was from Nayborhood críp but they realized I didn’t pay them no mind like that and wasn’t scared not one bit then they probably heard my strong ass NY accent 😂. A 60 probably would have been scared when they walked up but that shit didn’t phase me

The saddest part of watching these dudes expose themselves is the fact that they are so sheltered that they truly believe their generic neighborhood is one of a kind and that it's "famous". It just shows how isolated and naive the lifestyle has made them.

One of my last memories of being at Jim Gilium park, was going up there late night with a couple of my friends and older family members. We lived off August back then. But we rode up to the park 7 deep in a little honda the homie had, 2 were riding on the back window lol. But we got to the park and started playing basketball, it was late, no lights, we played for maybe 10 min before we heard gun shoots in the distance. Seconds later we heard the bullets ripping past us. Good times lol (no one was hurt)
