It has literally been proved part of the reason we evolved to be the most intelligent species is because we discovered fire and cooking. Cooked meat is a lot easier to digest, and more calories can be consumed quicker. That means we could do other things than be on the hunt 24/7. 20% of the calories you consume in a day are used up as energy for your brain. These stupid diets annoy me. Zero or nothing. The carnivore people usually say 'you don't complain when people eat junk food, cake etc.' and fail to realise that is because for most people that is not the ONLY thing they are eating. That's before we get into the vegetable vendetta.

I always think this. Because so many people who've gone down the carnivore path are older people in their 60s+ who are consuming pounds of strictly fats and meats a day. And refuse to listen to anyone who tells them that's a trip down coronary lane or their doctors freaking out at their blood tests. All because a KZbinr said cholesterol numbers don't mean anything so long your a1c numbers are down, you've lost weight drastically and "inflammation". Any excuse, any crash diet not to eat veggies and cut down on ultra-processed foods.

This reminds me of a reddit story with a birthday girl who told all her friends to not shower, do their hair, deodorize, or dress nice, so as not to "show her up". I think these people want to sabotage the progress of others so they can never be better than them. Because they set the bar so low themselves it's making them feel insecure, so they want everyone else to be worse off, so they feel better.

With how humans stomachs and intestinal tracks are setup we are principally carnivore. Most nutrients in plants go strait through humans. On top of that plants are the king of biological warfare. the idea of eating so much meat and fat sounds like my nightmare. I’m overweight but I still very much enjoy vegetables (and carbs.) I tried sushi for the first time the other day and loved it. not only that but these people have got to have the WORST gut health imaginable. Spinach is one of the foods I eat almost every day because of the health benefits. When my aunt told me that she read online that spinach was not healthy so she completely cut it out of her diet, I was baffled that she believed a vegetable was bad for you because of what some random stranger over the internet told her. The biggest danger of spinach isn't actually the plant but the pesticides used while growing it and the bleach solution used to sanitized and wash it for the store. All pre washed foods are washed in a bleach mixture and should be re washed. Pesticides are near unavoidable because they can penetrate the actual cell membranes in plants, unfortunately. But, this doesn't completely negate their benefits.

You're also right about people not understanding moderation and I think the same thing can be said about most of these younger comments who don't have a lot of knowledge on the subject and see something gross they should avoid without really digging into why people do these things even if the crazier ones go to the extreme of the 'diets'.
@phionex54
@phionex54 10 күн бұрын
@Jane-ow7sr a change in your diet is always hard to implement at first! I did small steps first, like, no juice for the first week. I want to say I believe in you! And i know you can do it. If i did it, I know anyone can. Good luck on your journey and remember to love yourself. Even if you gain or lose, you deseve to be happy! Much love. People dont realize sugar acts like cocaine to the brain. Triggers the same dopamine response. When you withdraw from any drug, you feel like shit. Then you start to feel better. Your body isn't regecting the diet. You're litterally withdrawing from sugar. Also, people dont realize you dont count the fiber in the carbs, so if something is 23 grams of carbs, (which is all the brain needs to function in one day.) And is 3g of fiber technically you are only eating 20g of carbs. Anything less then 23g of carbs a day will hurt you. Also, low carb doesnt mean bacon and sausage and lunch meats, those arent good for you. It's supposed to be chicken and steak. And lastly the only time changing your diet doesnt work for everyone is if you have dietary restrictions.

True. People need to be aware that what's recommended, may not necessarily work for everyone, but what is recommended can be a template to work off to develop a diet that fits them. I'm on a low fat and low carb diet with high protein, I cut down on sugar to the point I only get it from fruit, but that didn't work out for me, but I slowly added back in sugar to test at what minumum of sugar I needed so my body wasn't dead weight (I was mentally fine but I was weak, blood tests came back with everything normal). My guess is that my brain needs a bit more sugar for processing so relying purely on fruit will not suffice. I slowly added in small amounts in my diet until I managed to get a good estimate of the minimum amount I needed so my body doesn't feel like deadweight to me. That's my experience anyway. I managed to lose weight.

As another bipolar woman, first I want to say how reassuring it is that you were able to do it. It genuinely encourages me (Not for dieting since I'm literally 5'3 and tilting on 100lbs, but other persistant things that you just have to moderate and keep up with) Also just great work, that's great improvement and I cheer you on. Secondly, you're right. Any diet CAN be good, if it's used responsibly.

As someone who had parents who did carnivore, and also tried it myself for a while. It’s honestly not that bad. Eating meat all the time and not having any sugar got rid of almost all of my acne, plus it helped me with my stomach problems. I do agree with the cream and butter thing though.. it’s really gross. Not all bone broth will become gelatinous, it needs to be heavy in collagen which is in skin, you need to boil skin, basically it becomes gelatin, once heated up again it becomes liquid again, it's used in asian dishes more because they use more parts of the animal than westerners do

Our broth doesn't turn into jelly though. So maybe we (Haley and others) get weirded out because it comes in a big chunk(which looks gross when you are used to the liquid broth version). Could be something like hypothyroidism, PCOS, cancer, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, or some other physical medical condition. OR it could be psychosomatic from depression, anxiety, or high stress levels. Saying it’s just daily products you use could delay that person from getting medical treatment. Fun fact: bone broth being “gelatinous” when cold is the mark of really good bone broth because that means you really took the time to extract the collagen from the joints and connective tissue on the bones! According to the Mayo Clinic, this collagen may support the health of your skin, nails, hair, and joints as you age! As a culinary student, making bone broth is also a great way of using up vegetable scraps and leftover meat bits! (Make sure to roast your broth bones for extra flavor!) This delicious stuff may take a while, but it’s a major building block for many recipes!

If grown-ass adults want to go on these insanely unbalanced diets, fine, but when I see a parent proudly encouraging their child to eat sticks of butter, I want scream at them for all the harm they’re doing to their child’s physical development.

We are opportunistic eaters. Just eat a bit of everything is not that hard. Both extremist vegans and carnivores have it wrong.

Coconut oil is known to clog pores in most people. I 've used tallow for years and it's the best moisturizer for my acne prone skin. Not every oil works for every person, but plant oils are more likely to cause humans more skin problems than animal oils.

What people don’t tell you about the carnivore diet is the lack of fiber can make you really constipated. Like *severely.* You need all three macronutrients to be healthy.

I can't stand it when people say "Eat less and move more" it does not work for everyone. As someone who has yoyoed through her life and has been all sizes from skinny, thin, curvy to full on chubs it's a pain hearing that phrase. I have a hormone issue which causes me to gain weight no matter what I eat and I have serious back problem so I can't exercise for long periods of time but I control my weight by having diets pills and eating better but I still have treats and I'm still losing weight slowly but surely and my diet might not work for others too but never do the meat diet eat a bit of everything that your body needs. Even my GP hates that saying because they know that each person is different.

i have a theory that the pipeline is from extreme raw vegans and after some time they feel shit and lack in a lot of stuff meat gives us and then cave, eat meat for the whole day and the next day they feel better and then all of the sudden they go full carnivore diet and because they were raw vegan they think raw carnivore is better and these are the same people who will shout ever 10 minute they are raw vegans because it was their only personality and well something has to replace it and eating normal doesn't cut it. has to be uwu quirky not like any other people and soon ish maybe 5 to 10 years time they gonna mega stwitch back to raw vegan or some other kind of weird diet because the current one isnt good enough or trendy enough

I used to eat full tubs of margarine and full things of strawberries (and other fruits) as a kid. We found out I was vitamin deficient Also back to the start of the video, cooking pans can actually be making you feel a little worse for wear if you have Teflon coated pans and only that (as of rn). And you can make your own lotion/moisturizer (I would recommend it if you have sensitive skin actually if you have time) but with plant oils and fats. Don't use animal fat, disgusting

My mom has major untreated mental illness (or treated by becoming a born again Christian 😮‍💨) and has done every crash diet including keto and now carnivore for the last couple of years, and the delusion to say this is how our ancestors ate when like 70% of their diet was plants, fruits and nuts is just showns a lot about the level of dissonace and fear mongering against this idea of being controlled. I've smelt some of the most disgusting smells especially tallow and seen absolute abominations of meals. She quits it every couple of months because it's completely unsustainable, and then starts it up saying she'll be skinny soon just with blocked arteries. It's just sad that she can't discern this stuff anymore and all those conspiracy theories feed off each other and make people ill.

One of the most interesting things to me about dairy, is that being lactose intolerance is actually the norm. A tolerance to lactose, is actually a genetic mutation. Literally all other mammals are unable to digest milk once they're weened.
