I am the person Stuart is talking about that fought to get a cgm and then fought to get a calcium score then fought to get a stress test. All the docs said no and I had to demand it. Moral of the story is, only you can take control of your health. The system is not set up for being proactive. I am in better shape today than I was in my 20s.

Great guest and conversation. Referring to certain blood work and insurance coverage, and not sure if this is just Medicare, or across the board - I went to my portal, first time, and saw the list of issues I had been diagnosed with. The diagnosis could have come from one higher than normal blood pressure reading, or having ( one time only) a total cholesterol of 204. At the time, I became so aggravated because I don’t have essential hypertension, nor do I have hypercholesteremia, and the list went on. Even had a note to check for obesity, yet my BMI is around 22. My next visit to this doctor. I lit into him, and the conversation became a ‘who could be sarcastic yet nice’ battle. I told him I did not have a vitamin D deficiency and he asked, do you supplement? I responded with ‘yes’ and he said, then you have a deficiency. Then We batttled about that. I really thought he was about to fire me, as he is probably not used to patients questioning him. I told him I wanted transparency and honesty and I didn’t like all these faux diagnoses ‘out there’ in the insurance world. Then he became transparent- all the blood work he orders for me need to have certain diagnostic codes for insurance to cover. And he orders a lot of bloodwork, including Vit D, insulin resistance panel, Cleveland clinic cardio panel, A1C, fibrinogen, all the hormones, every single one of the thyroid including TPO and TgAb ( I have Hashimotos), CBC, metabolic panel, and more. Without the Vitamin D deficiency diagnosis insurance would not cover the cost of the test. BTW, this is a functional doctor and one I’ve seen for many years. After the ‘blow up’ we both apologized and then went back to our usual bantering back and forth. But, he did ask me to take the Myers Briggs personality test. 🤣

It's great to see how many times you quote Dr. Mercola's moto: "Take control of your health!" He has been so right about so many things. It would be amazing that you have him as a guest in your show! Certainly he has much more to say and contribute to the community than Stuart (with all due respect).

Thanks for pointing this out. Is that Dr Joseph Mercola who was deplatformed and debunked 1 million times all over the world? Oh, yes, He is true hero. Much respect.

You mentioned the health system. I agree that at present, the system is set up to try and stop sick people from dying, not to help healthy people live their best life.

Thank you, this is probably the best episode on your channel. Such a thoughtful, fair and polite debunking of 99% of mainstream medicine. Think about that, Matt, yet 99% of your collaborators are in that mainstream, you still keep praying on your knees at the altar of the FDA monopoly cult etc. So what is your vision of your future and this channel?

I had a similar experience with testosterone decline and hcg/clomid.If I had to guess, most cases of low test are due to secondary hypogonadism (low test and low fsh/lh).If I had to choose I would choose hcg over Clomid, faster results and less side effects
