Non existent! His cherry picking of research against resevertrol just projects his envy and shows his blaring cognitive bias. He is a troll who has no content unless he " word salads"abput david sinclair. No one is watching unless he blubs about david. anyone who All his suggestions of bad science is just his sour grapes. He is a troll and a failed academic. Yawn. Optisoan is mat kaeberlein and a lap top. Who just whines and whines and tantrums about more talented peers. Good luck with that

Given the cumulative research evidence in academia and in GSK showing that resveratrol does not activate sirtuins nor increase lifespan, Nature should retract the 2003 yeast and 2006 mice papers of the Sinclair lab, and Sinclair should not be allowed to continue tarnishing the image of Harvard Medical School and the gerontology field.
@diamond_s4 ай бұрын
Multiple labs have shown sirtuin activation. Resveratrol was strongest sirtuin activator and is cheap nonpatentable. Gsk was angry cause they thought sinclair would give them patentable molecules that were better or half as good.

Many thanks. You’ve put so much effort into this and I really appreciate it. Any chance that you do a similar clarification regarding NMN? I heard so many different view points, including from Dr Brad S. and Physionic. I still have questions
@raymondbrowning7624 ай бұрын
Matt: This may be a premature question(s). We have multiple (now at least 12) hallmarks of aging. We have multiple intervention's, exercise, lifestyle, multiple drugs, etc. that individually contribute positively to health and life span. Is it possible to understand the cumulative effect? Is there a summation, are many of the effects overlapping, is there a key component that is missing? Each of the 12 hallmarks needs to be addressed, if one is missing you still have a problem, where are we on that?

Thanks. Appreciate the deconstruction and level of detail. I took ResV for years, although at a low dose. Eventually just made sure I got a lot of polyphenols/flavonoids along with a good diet and exercise. More I learn, exercise has many benefits, not the least is maintaining immune function which is vitally important.

What got me was the impact of the initial incorrect finding and the researchers' refusal to retract the paper. Wasted time (and grant money) by so many other researchers trying to replicate it Reduced confidence in the entire field of longevity research Withdrawal of big pharma from investments People buying supplements (and drinking red wine) when they could have tried something else These are serious consequences!

I don't think lifespan extension, but if it has other health benefits that will be good. If you take omega3 fatty acids, I don't think it increases lifespan but it has many health benefits.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience! I have a different focus to ask. You mentioned at the beginning of the introduction that “Resveratrol is found in various plants, including the skins of grapes, blueberries, raspberries, mulberries, and peanuts.” Many researchers, it seems including you, I never seen mention of peanut sprouts. Peanut sprouts contain 50 to 100 times more resveratrol than red wine, and the resveratrol content increases about 90 times as peanuts germinate. I have been trying to find an answer to why peanut sprouts are frequently excluded from discussions on resveratrol sources. I would love to hear your thoughts as it is very important. I am not a scientist, but I am eager to learn and obtain accurate information from experts. Thank you!

Everyone saying it works for them: Is this scientifically backed by data? Did you test - supplement - re test, changing absolutely nothing else in your regime? Its so hard to quantity what aspects of one's lifestyle is contributing without doing experiments and testing in a controlled manner. I suspect everyone taking ResV exercises, eats healthy and takes other supps too.

No doubt about your conclusion on resveratrols failure to increase Livespan or even Healthspan. YET I believe the molecule can be useful because it turned out recently to be an Antagonist of the Arylhydrocarbonreceptor (AhR). Therefore Resvertrol may be a save antidote for TCDD-like toxic molecules that get more and more ubiquitious. Anecdotally I can testify there is a distinctly positive effect on brain fog.

So the test on yeast cells, the test on human cells, the test on mice with mitochondrial disfunction, the test on senescent accelerated mice, the data on fasting mice, the data on obese mice, the data on shorter lived mouse strain is all wrong? As it showed rejuvenation and life extension in all of these. Keep in mind big pharma has big incentive to introduce fud just like smoking companies did. Even nasa was looking into using resveratrol given it diminishes muscle wasting upon inactivity. Multiple labs have shown sirtuin activation of resveratrol and similar molecule pterostilbene.

I really dont know either way as i'm no scientist. but i do know there are experiments done in favour of resveratrol with regards to the dosing. too much is negative and a little amount show some benefits that matt is not mentioning here so i dont know.
